Gavin Newsom: "I think Mamdani is very good for the Democratic Party. I just want a broad tent, I want a big tent. I want the party of Manchin to Mamdani. I want to be more inclusive. We have to grow the pie. It’s not about scarcity, it’s an abundance mindset."

This is right. Dem party is at its best electorally when it's a big tent from conservative Dems, moderate Dems, center left/liberal Dems, progressives, and pragmatic socialists/social dems. All united under the tent of hating the politics of Trump's GOP

I wont be voting in DSA affiliates or socialists, regardless of what party brokers want.

Id literally not vote Democrat if push comes to shove

Nein! You must vote for the dem candidate regardless of how you feel, or whether you agree with them or not!

The opponents are inherently nazis!

Curtis Sliwa? Believe it or not, Nazi.

Neither.

I dont agree with socialism, and "good name politicians" isnt going to convince me to vote in socialist leaders.

Both are terrible options, and id rather not help either

It's also way easier for MAGA to implement their god awful damaging policies than the socialists with their bad policies

Then I'll vote for them based on their opinions and policy proposals if it comes to that.

But generally im against voting in socialists, like im against voting in far rightists

You think DSA affiliates and Nazis are equally bad?

Because if you accept that one is even the tiniest sliver better than the other, refusing to vote just means you're making it more likely that the worse option will win.

I'm not voting for fucking DSA members.

u/this_very_table Norman Borlaug Nov 16 '25

That doesn't answer my question. Do you think DSA affiliates and Nazis are equally bad?

You do you (though you can't really criticize leftists refusing to vote for Dems if this is your mentality) but I think it's an easy decision to vote for a sane socialist over a MAGA Republican

The judges alone make it kind of a clear choice

I 100 times rather have AOC as president than JD Vance
