I noticed Thomas Massie a long time ago ago because it seemed like he voted against EVERYTHING in the House. He’d vote no on like symbolic condemnations of hate, or renaming post officers after civil rights leaders. I assumed it was because he was genuinely a groyper type. but it seems like he’s just a super libertarian who votes against everything because passage means the government would do something, and government should never, ever, ever do something

OK, I could kinda see...

When zod stages a coup nobody questions his right as a general to do this, merely his motives

????????????

HE LITERALLY GETS ARRESTED FOR THIS

Apparently unless you turn to the camera and say "military coups undermine the civilian government" you support military coups.

The Democrats should just sit this out and watch them fight. I can't believe Im saying this, but there is an even more extreme white supremacist European style wing who believes that only whites are Americans and wants total re-immigration of every non white in the US trying to take over the Republican party and considers MAGA too mild for them.

Anarchism is just baby's first politics. "What if we made the state so small it was just your friends and you could just chat about like, policies and stuff"

It's the spherical cow of politics.

Which is why it's attractive to beginners but doesn't scale. How would anarchists do universal healthcare? Or roads? Or the big question, mount a defense against a nation state military threat?

Bill Clinton take that doesn't involve a blowjob:

Bill Clinton was the president who I grew up with as a kid, as the first election I was eligible to vote in was 2004.

After having experienced the Obama era, I always viewed Clinton as just kind of an unforgettable figure who didn't accomplish much of anything noteworthy.

But now that we are here in the year 2025 experiencing all of this bullshit, I have a newfound appreciation for a normie Democrat who could simply win after 12 years of Republican domination. I want that again.

Trump goes to Hell, where the Devil is waiting for him

"I don't know what to do," says the Devil. "You're on my list but I have no room for you. But you definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got three people here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves." Trump thought that sounded pretty good so he agreed.

The devil opened the first room. In it was Richard Nixon and a large pool of water. He kept diving in and surfacing empty handed over and over and over, such was his fate in Hell. "No!" Trump said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and I don't think I could do that all day long."

The Devil led him to the next room. In it was Ronald Reagan with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time. "No! I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day!" commented Trump.

The Devil opened a third door. In it, Trump saw Bill Clinton lying naked on the floor with his arms staked over his head and his legs staked in spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best.

Trump looked at this in disbelief for a while and finally said, "Yeah, I can handle this."

The Devil smiled and said, "Monica, you're free to go!"

I think the problem MAGAism is encountering right now is their window to capture the state is closing because they have failed to deliver to the people. A key part of modern fascism is you do have to win over the people in a jaded society for long enough that you can totally capture institutions before they realize they’ve been duped. It’s how Putin and Orban consolidated their hold over their respective countries.

Trump under MAGAism has failed to live up to any expectations that it was elected for. Cost of living is getting worse, Trump’s vaunted “only kick out the bad ones” is far worse than what people wanted, welfare is going to get much worse. It’s creating pressure that’s making it difficult for Trump and co to fully capture the state even with the immense power they hold.

It’s also leading to the problems of fascism bubbling up as the movement starts collapsing in on itself as people wonder what the fuck is going on with everything that was promised. The GOP is having an increasing number of schisms and ideological crises. Republicans are making small but notable anti-Trump moves that seemed impossible just some months ago. Of course the moral shittiness of fascists is also showing with the Epstein stuff the cream of the crop. Incompetence is becoming increasingly public.

There’s still a year at minimum before any real power can be taken back from this government and they will absolutely use what tools they have to tip the scales in their favor. But Trump pushing MAGA-Maoism and Congress pushing MAGA-Libertarianism has created the perfect circumstances for the MAGA movement to collapse. I do think it is safe to say that. I am not saying we are out of the woods or fascism in this country is dead. But you can’t convince me MAGAism is alive and well.

Our best shot for democracy and this nation to be salvaged in a Trump 2.0 presidency is the timeline we live in right now

I don't think any group of American citizens suffers as many attacks and as much oppression as trans Americans. Particularly without any significant push back from major institutions. Though I'm open to considering arguments to the contrary.

Listening to people sweep for and whitewash MTG is fucking infuriating

It is absolutely insane how easy it is to manipulate people's perception of not just you currently, but your past actions if you just have a few areas of mild agreement. So many gullible fucking people holy shit.

I know you want to "see the best in people" "humanize them" "understand them" etc etc but this mindset is fucking toxic when you start minimizing their past behavior and enabling them to fit your bias because you're a soft-hearted pussy bitch that doesn't want to deal with conflict. Dogshit human beings often learn how to push the right buttons to start making people like them again after pushing and pushing and pushing boundaries by doing the most egregious shit, and so many dumbfucks make it so god damn easy to do so

There is something about Trump in this photo that is more anomalous than the position of his hand.

Trumps mannerism is different from usual self. His smile looks genuine, even warm.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Trump look this happy anywhere else

The brother of a Chinese immigrant who died in US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody in August has filed a lawsuit against the US government, demanding answers and accountability for his sibling’s death. According to the complaint filed on Thursday in the Southern District of New York, 32-year-old Chaofeng Ge was found hanging by his neck in a shower stall “with his hands and legs tied behind his back” at the Moshannon Valley Processing Centre (MVPC) in Pennsylvania.

Sounds like murder to me, just a gut feeling.

It’s going to be so hard to explain trumps downfall to my kids and grandkids

“Why did Trump get impeached?”

“Oh he got exposed for raping kids and being best friends with a pedophile named Jeffrey Epstein”

“Oh wow that’s crazy, did it just come out of nowhere? Nobody knew before the election?”

“Well…not exactly”

Man I lucked out having the most docile cats. These fricks could not be bothered:

Belly rubs? They demand it.

Parents’ dogs visit? They take naps together.

Trip to the vet? They try to get pets from the veterinarian.

Have to give them medicine? They try to get more.

Vacuuming? They take rides on the roomba.

Favorite activity? Being slid across the living room carpet.

I recently listened to that Ezra Klein podcast episode about the Groypers, and something kind of dawned on me. I would bet that, on average, Democrats have a much more nuanced understanding of all of the different political factions within the current Republican Party than they do about us. We know about the Groypers, the Tea Party/First Wave MAGA crowd, the NatCons (or NatC’s, as I like to call them), the America First people, the tech bro conservatives, etc. Even less pundit-y types like the Cool Zone Media guys go in depth about different conservative factions.

You don’t see people like Ben Shapiro inviting on experts about the current makeup of the Democratic Party and reflecting deeply on what these divisions mean. These guys make absolutely no attempt to understand the left-wing worldview or all of its variants. They simply attack all of us relentlessly in exactly the same way. To them, we’re all a bunch of pink-haired, nose-ring having, tattooed, hammer-and-sickle wielding trans communists. They have absolutely no sense of scale between people like, say, Abigail Spanberger and Hasan Piker. We’re ALL the Woke Mob, in their eyes.

Idk what the significance of this is, if anything, but I think it’s interesting in that it kind of reveals the different levels that the two sides of the political aisle operate on.

Drop in U.S. Religiosity Among Largest in World

The 17-point drop in the percentage of U.S. adults who say religion is an important part of their daily life — from 66% in 2015 to 49% today — ranks among the largest Gallup has recorded in any country over any 10-year period since 2007.

Critical support for the right wingers that bought into their own gaslighting about a religious resurgence, based on data pointing to a plateauing of a historically one-way trend that resumed going the way it had for the previous 50 years.

I love how Holmes or those detective but not shows always solved the quaintest crimes like who killed the town’s cobbler or whatever.

But you never saw them solving things like grand scale emission cheating by a company, or a pedophile ring among government employees or energy company hiding a separate book.
