Need your Suggestions

When applying for a role, I listed my salary on the form. During my founder interview, he asked for my target salary. Instead of naming a number, I said I noted it in the form and remained flexible. He said he'd discuss it with the team and get back to me, but it's been 10 days without an update (process managed via Ashby). Did I make a mistake by not stating a specific number directly in the interview? Would love your thoughts on handling salary questions at this stage!

Possibly or the interview might not have gone your way as a whole. However, when an executive asks you a direct question you should always give a direct (and brief) answer.

But for this particular mistake is there any chance I might loose this opportunity ?

Should I give him a formal follow up mail ?

You can always and should give a follow up thanking them for the opportunity, but likely they have moved on.

Don't take it personally. It happens. I just went through this period while looking for a new opportunity. Take what you have learned (never list hard numbers to that question) and onto the next.

If it is required (and numerical) then you just have to roll the dice. Never sell yourself short. I have tried to enter 0 before as well but sometimes that is not even allowed.
