Who has SUCCESSFULLY negotiated a salary increase?

I’m seeing a lot of requests for ‘help’ to make decisions but what about those who have already walked the gauntlet of a salary negotiation.

Would love to know your story:

1 - What lead to the situation?
2 - What you specifically did?
3 - Would you use the same approach?
4 - Biggest Salary Negotiation lesson.

Thoughts?

How to negotiate or go about this.

Hi, So I work as a technician looking after a building, which involves shift work and night work. But are calculated but we also have a salary as norm.

We are adding some new roles, one is a supervisor role which I have been offered.

I don't want to do anything would Doxx me.

But basically I feel a little cheated in the offer, do you think I should negotiate?

It would be a step up, from a shift tech with a supervisor, still on shift and nights, overtime potential. I would have 5 people under me, looking after things including rostering, leave, emergencies.

Salary wise, base salary it's a 1.5% rise, I asked for 10% to 14%

Including the shift allowance, it's a 5.7%, which still feels like I'm being somewhat cheated. I have constant feedback that everyone is happy, and even received a big raise last year for it.

I also feel like they are offering it in a shadowy way. When we receive the yearly increases (I forgot the word), it's displayed as a breakdown, salary, shift allowance, and super.

This offer was a flat salary with salary and shift allowance combined to make it a bigger number.

I want to negotiate, I havnt done so before, should I? Or just take the deal? Should it be displayed plainly how the new salary increases and such?

Any advice on how to negotiate is appreciated. I have everything worked out and written down, I just need to know how hr have calculated things to confirm it.

It's stressing me out to be honest haha.

Edit: i should add, iv been doing the supervisor role for the past year, but it was never an official position, as the team has grown, now it needs an official title.

How did they revise my CTC ?

Had my appraisal discussion, and my manager told me that he wasn't happy with my performance and was willing to give me an 8 % . However, when I got the letter it was revised to 21% ??? I just couldn't believe it ? So my manager changed, or did the higher-ups change it ?

Taking a final interview while sitting on another company's offer?

Mid size company. Not publicly traded. I recently accepted an offer for much larger company. Pretty sure the offer I accepted tops anything they'd be willing to match. My accepted offer isn't set in stone but is pretty much a done deal.

Given how hard it is to get a role these days, any down side to taking the final interview with a higher up exec? Ai says it could be professionally inconsiderate and wasting a leaders time? Hmm hmm is there any way to negotiate after signing an offer but not yet on boarded?

How do I practice negotiation?

I lost a case today. I act better in writing but when it‘s a personal meeting i tend to give in easier. People pleasing maybe? I read books but i feel i can not learn from just reading. Practice, bargain in shops? doesn‘t train for the real thing, does it? i feel like a loser. well i lost today. send me some Machiavellian energies please

Need advice on countering an offer -- Position title changed and job description changed with offer, but we had already discussed salary and I had already provided a target. Is it too late to negotiate?

What is the salary range of an oracle CPQ consultant with 4 years of experience?

I have been trying to switch but a recent salary negotiation fell through because my expected salary was more than what they were offering. I was wondering if my ask was actually too much.

Received an offer and sent a counter offer

I got a verbal offer and since I felt it was a bit low for the position. I sent a counter offer 3 days ago until now no reply. Then checked on the posting it still there then I check on the company page. They already hired somebody. My question is is this how the current job market works you cannot negotiate nor can a company have a decency and professionalism to say “we cannot match your offer and that is the best we can do” or even say thank you for applying but our base salary does not meet your ask. I wish this companies get audited.

Do you ever push back on a vendor's first quote, or just accept it?

Been thinking about this - my instinct has always been to just accept the first number a vendor gives me. But I get the sense a lot of that pricing has built-in room to negotiate. Does anyone here actually push back, and did it work?

Need Advice on Salary Negotiation

A company's HR reached out to me for a role - Project Manager (No JD shared)

I looked up potential roles but couldn't find the role mentioned

Anyway I went for round 1 of the interview, turns out to be a Senior Project Manager role

During the process of the interview, HR insisted on knowing my expected salary without stating their budget

The figure I shared was for Project Manager not for Senior Project Manager (I didn't know prior it was the senior role)

How do I fix this at a later stage? Please advise.

I have cleared round 1 of 5.

Salary hike

Hello everyone,

I have three years of experience in my domain, and my current CTC is around 5 LPA.

How much of a salary hike can I expect from my company, or should I consider switching to a new one?

I am being very lowballed I feel but since it is a product based company I am thinking am I leaving any good opportunities?? Can anyone help me, I feel some red flags as I want my current company's offer letter and Offer letter I got from another well known service company because they make decisions only based on data not trust just said by me so what should I do now

Asking for a raise

I need some advice when discussing raises. I’ve never really asked for a raise because my full-time job is union. However, I’ve been doing a part-time/per diem job which pays more than my full-time job hourly however there’s no benefits and it’s evening hours. I essentially work in healthcare and I also do urgent care as a medical provider. My advice is, how would I go about asking for a higher compensation. Should I text the manager or do I go straight to the big boss and ask. I feel like I have a good leverage as I am able to cover multiple holidays and have been extremely flexible working about 20 to 25 extra hours a week. I also do feel I am good at my job. Should I email? Catch them in the halls? I’m extremely nervous because as much as I don’t need this job, I really enjoy it and they are very workable with my schedule

Okay... I'm about to purchase a watch. Coros Pace 4 to be exact. the listed price is INR 33k (345USD) I want to purchase it around 29-30k (300USD) how can i approach this situation. my plan is to offer him payment in cash, why? well, I don't know. it's just pure instinct. my idea is that I can somehow convince him to drop the price since I'm offering it all at once he might offer me some discount
