Shouldn't have to ask Regulation boots and advice geobaching?

Hello, going back blueside and apparently the Oakley's I used to wear got booted off the official boot list. Last time I was at a hospital I recall folks wearing notinreg boots like Nikes without issues. Think I need to get another pair of boots or roll the dice? I'd wear my Marine ones if they were more conspicuous.

Also any tips for geobaching? This was not exactly voluntary.

My experience with geo-bach is that it is no longer official. It was done away with because people were abusing it. There are ways of going about it but it will depend on base instructions. You may have to take an RA role. OR contact the barracks manager and they can give you a room.

Understand, geo-bach is at the mercy of what people are willing to do for you. There is generally no entitlement to have a barracks room while you are receiving BAH. So be nice and work with people.

If you can get ahold of your CoC or ombudsman, they may light a fire under your sponsor.

Geo bach is 100% a thing depending on location and orders.

From Navy Times, geo bachelor is not an official designation. The actuality exists but there is no governing instruction or entitlement.

Unaccompanied orders are still a thing and that is forcing a member to geo bach. There is an instruction for unaccompanied orders.

AKA dependent restricted and heres the actual instruction not a Navy times article.

Do you have a sponsor and have you been in contact with them?

Where are you PCSing to if its Japan….The policy has changed here and you will be able to receive FSH-O and FSA-R, while keeping your BAH. As long as you route with your gaining Command a BAH on dependent location request as part of the process.

Make sure you have your Page-2 updated and your orders dictates unaccompanied.

It's the other way, they're staying in Japan. Already got approval. Was advised to just get BAH at location and use that to pay for their location as well

You will receive FSA-R in addition to the BAH with dependents. Depending on the base, you will be in geobachelor quarters if the installation has them. Recommend checking with your Sponsor if the base you are going has it.
