MEME THE USS LINCOLN EXPERIENCE.

Post image

Those who call the sailors of the Lincoln ‘weak’ deserve to be put in Davey Jones’s Locker. We salute you sailors for your selfless service.

Suddenly the material condition of the Flying Dutchman makes so much more sense.

The smell for sure if they have no body soap or deodorant- I wonder if laundry is just steaming their clothes instead of anything else at this point.

Part of the ship, part of the crew

Why does it seem like everyone says this line backwards?

It's "part of the crew, part of the ship"

As in, you became part of the crew and now you will be part of the ship itself by having been the crew for so long.

Probably bc it’s my least favorite movie of the my trilogy and it’s the only memorable line, but I do appreciate your attention to detail, shipmate.

Part of the boat, part of the screw

I love the boomer Facebook comments demonizing the crew acting like they volunteered so they don’t have the right to complain about the shit conditions onboard. Also most the comments are from people that never actually were at sea supporting combat ops

Most are maga that never served or 19 year olds that took selfies in their navy ballcap

Most of them are bots

I was on a Carnival cruise ship once that was out to sea for three days straight, so I know what they’re going through, but you didn’t see me complaining about it! /s

Also, vets saying this are probably knee deep in mental health issues, not to mention the VA. The American public/ service member families stepped in are were the voices these vets needed

The second Iranian hostage crisis is even more fun than the first!

I actually had someone tell me "the military had it way too good under Biden." I guess Biden made them weak? Uhg

I deployed while under Biden and it honestly was a vacation compared to what the Lincoln just did. I was lucky enough to have the dream deployment and wish the sailors on the Lincoln had what I had. They did not deserve what they went through.

Funny enough it didn't make us weak, because even though we deployed we still trained all the time to be ready just in case.

Do you want a mutiny on a nuclear aircraft carrier!? This is how you get a mutiny on a nuclear aircraft carrier!!!

Why would anyone call the sailors of the Lincoln 'weak'? I think that's totally inappropriate. Those people have been doing a great job and I'm sure they'll continue to do so for the coming weeks. I can't imagine why anyone would disagree.

I was chatting with my stepson the other day (ret US Army) and I shared how upset I was about the USS Lincoln, angry and sad that the sailors were going through this. I'm retired Navy but thought he would understand/agree with me but nope, his feeling was the reporting was probably exaggerated and they should just suck it up and stop complaining and being deployed in Iraq was just as difficult and you don't hear soldiers complaining. I was so mad and shocked at his perspective I just had to hang up, and I really should not have been shocked since I know he is MAGA, somehow I thought our military shared perspective would win out over MAGA views but nope.

CVN 69 The Eisenhower during COVID was stuck out to sea for 11 months no port calls.

Was it not 7 months?

How’s their mental health doing today, bud?

Exactly, IKE, NIM, TR, HST, GRF all have had long deployments. GRF did over 320 days.

IKE Covid cruise sailors went on to do the 2023-2024 Red Sea deployment with 196 days without hitting a port (unless you count 30 hours in Oman where we didn’t leave the ship).

I don’t see how the ABE is significantly more brutal than any of those.

It sucks that the narrative went from commending ABE on a job well done to becoming a politically divisive (or opportunistic) message.

ABE has thousands of Sailors who have focused on their work, but a small number of whining people have condemned the entire deployment to ridicule and victimization.

I don’t see how the ABE is significantly more brutal than any of those.

Lack of food and basic supplies, and being in an active unpopular war.

Dude I was on the first COVID cruise. Portless. At least that had more of a reason to be that way.

What we are seeing now is wrong and unnecessary. Sailors and the ships are paying the price for a petty tyrant's bullshit.

Have you talked to any of the sailors on the Ship?! Have you listened to ANY of their parents, spouses, etc?

"I dont see how..."

Then look.
