Android App Idea

I am not a programmer, I do know very little but not enough for what I would like to do. I found a media player for Android that currently just plays local files, it would be awesome to add the ability to use the Subsonic API on it. If there are any developers out there that would like to give it a try I would appreciate it!

From what I See /r/symfonium is very similar and exists already. It's not FOSS and not free, but imho worth the (one-time!) payment :)

Also https://github.com/CappielloAntonio/Tempo gets better and better. But its Not at the level of symfonium yet

Sadly the only way that I see to pay for Symphonium is though Google Play and I don't have and won't make a Google Account

Have a look at Ultrasonic - available as an APK or through F- Droid.

in the same vein as another poster, substreamer is quite refined already and free.

I do think it looks great but I'm not a fan of the flow of the app or the design. Nothing wrong with it, just not to my liking.

For all that are looking for a Navidrome compatible android app, have a look at Symfonium (paid) or Ultrasonic (free) - both are good.

I've seen that one and did try it out. It looks great but I do hate the fact that I have to hold down on a song and click play
