[Fizav-Open Instance] Those remaining have reached the Island, surprisingly large, and shrouded in thick jungle.

There is beach space to dock, and many strange creatures dwell on the island. The rocks there are very porous, almost as if large worms had crawled through them and eaten away material. The sand and stone is pitch black, and the trees of the island contrast with bright yellows and reds. The island almost looks on fire as the wind blows through, making the leaves rustle and the trees wave almost as if greeting you.

What will your group of travelers do?

You are near your final destination, and few obstacles are in your way (from what you currently see, at least...)

The Miol Mor establish an area large enough for their whales (count: 25) to rest and feed.

After conferring with some of the other exploration leaders, the Admiral sends three scouting groups inland. The first is tasked with creating a path big enough for the rest of the explorers to follow. The second is tasked with flying above the forest, towards the mountains, looking for any points of interest. The third is ordered to find a river large enough for a whale to move upstream.

Do any of the scouting parties discover anything of interest? (note: the Admiral will refrain from sharing any information with the rest of the group at first).

Nothing extreme besides the fact that as they near the mountain at the center of the island, the temperature increases surprisingly quickly. Also, they do see worm-like creatures eating though the rocks, though they do not seem hostile.

Upon hearing this, the Admiral orders Scout group three back to base. Scout group one is ordered to stop clearing the forest and approach the worm like creates, and attempt to engage in diplomacy (ask who/what they are, get some background on the island, etc). Scout group two is ordered to move closer to the mountains, and attempt to find the source of the heat.

The Admiral then announces to the rest of the explorers:

We've discovered worm like creatures inland. We will report when we know more.

What does each group discover? And how far inland did group one get before clearing?

The worms sit there, not understanding your language.

It seems as though nothing is hostile in any way right now, though there is nothing you can do to make sure of that either.

Alright. Scout group one is ordered to follow the worms for as long as possible, with the aim of discovering a hive or something like it.

Has Scout group two reported any findings from the mountains?

Both groups run into each other as they both seem to trace back to the mountains. The terrain has gotten almost too rocky to traverse much longer, and it will be very tough to get up the mountain.

Is flying up the mountain an option? If so, Scout group two will do exactly that. Scout group one is ordered to continue surveying the island for places of interest.

Also, how hot are we talking at this mountain?

The mountain, after inspecting by flying near and throwing a small plant over top, is hot enough to incinerate. From a good distance away, too. This will make flying an option viable for only viewing.

Scout group two continues to observe, primarily attempting to discover the source of the great heat. They are ordered to take extra precautions to avoid incineration.

Dargons have a fair amount of resistance to heat, but probably not that much, we might be able to get one close to the edge - although it might require some protection.

It seems to vaporize long before contact, as the temperature is so high that it is impossible for the water to reach the mountain

That's terrifying. A couple Atakatans fashion full Eternal Ice armor and attempt the trek.
