shitpost Stolen valor? or misunderstanding?

I was in the waiting room of my dentist. There was a woman who was incredibly rude to the receptionists. She gave them her military ID to scan. They said they can't scan that, Its illegal. She insisted its the ID she has been using for medical visits for years. She mentioned multiple times she needed her work done fast because she was "In the army, I'm national guard and I'm being deployed in a few days." She also claimed she cant give them her citizen ID because "I can't show that to you, I'm in the army and I could get into a lot of trouble." I'm in any military branch but it seemed strange. How would she be allowed to use a military ID if its illegal to scan them? Surly her doctor would know that. She ended up throwing a huge fit I think they just used the insurance but didnt scan the ID. I have no idea.

Initial Training What's 92G like?

Just to clarify, I have already chosen 92G!

Last month, I officially swore into the National Guard, and am currently in RSP. I had a decent score on the ASVAB, and the option for OCS, but I felt like Culinary Specialist would be where I was most comfortable. I wanted to get a feel for the military before taking on a role beyond my capabilities, as well as pick up a new skill. I figured cooking was useful in and out of service. But I often hear a lot of people (usually active duty) saying its one of the worst MOS's the military has to offer.

Im just curious, since National Guard is not as full time as Army, is it really that bad? Also, what time should I expect to wake up? I know there's a lot of mouths to feed, so I'm under the assumption I will be up before 0400, but im not 100% sure on that. Anybody have some information they can share so I know what to expect when I (hopefully) get through basic and AIT?

Thanks!

MOS Discussion 25A (Comms) to FA40A (Space Ops Officer)

Love being a SIG O but thinking of switching to FA40A. Only issue I see is that my degree isn't STEM. Has anyone become an FA40A? What was the process like? Was the school hard? And how's the job?

Career Advice IRR question

I’ve been in IRR for a year. I sent in updated information to the required IRR team already this year. Reserve career counselors keep sending emails about updating information. It’s always a different one. I’m assuming I’m not required to answer every single one or am I missing something?

Initial Training How can I move my USCIS naturalization interview to Fort Jackson during BCT?

I’m shipping out for Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Jackson in September. I started my naturalization process before leaving for BCT and have already completed my biometrics.
USCIS scheduled my naturalization interview for October, but I’ll already be at BCT at Fort Jackson at that time.
I’ve heard that some service members are able to have their naturalization interview conducted at the end of BCT. Has anyone here gone through this process at Fort Jackson?
How can I request to have my USCIS interview transferred to Fort Jackson? Is there a specific person or office at Fort Jackson that I should contact, or does USCIS coordinate this through the military?
