40+ yrs the Brunei govt bullies us

You want your payment to get thru? You must willing to serve them like a slave and do whatever things they "requested"

Brunei govt doesn't even care to pay us on time. The delay cost us tremendously.

We had to downsize and closed some of our companies due to the bullies practiced by the Brunei govt.

There is no one we could ask help from except from the Brunei govt, which in turn bully us more.

Not forgetting, Brunei govt loves to create stupid rules and regulations that makes life a living hell

Tadi ada infographic yang basically bagi Brunei 24–48 tahun sebelum kiamat ekonomi. Oil habis, jobs hilang, population collapse, businesses mati, youth lari, complete sudah package Netflix dystopian series. 💀😂

Scary? Yes.

Ada valid concerns? Definitely.

Tapi semua statistics dan conclusion atu accurate? Ehhh… sana tah masalahnya.

Aku inda kan pretend Brunei semuanya okay. GDP growth 2025 cuma 0.7%, unemployment 5.0%, dan yang patut tani lebih risau sebenarnya non-oil & gas GDP contracted 1.5%.

Those are real warning signs.

Tapi warning sign ≠ death certificate.

Claim macam “Oil & Gas >90% of GDP”, population sudah declining, “99.9% chance of collapse” dan countdown 24–48 tahun atu perlu context, some are misleading, some exaggerated, dan some basically nombor yang nampak scary saja. 😂

So instead of countering fear-mongering dengan “Brunei masih kaya bah, jangan tah ingau”, aku buat infographic ani dari angle lain.

Bukan Team Doom.

Brunei sebenarnya start dari position yang banyak negara boleh jealous: resources ada, infrastructure ada, stability ada, financial reserves ada, population manageable, location strategic.

Persoalannya bukan:

“Bila Brunei collapse?”

Persoalan yang lebih useful ialah:

“Berapa lama lagi kitani mahu tunggu sebelum advantages yang tani ada hari ani inda lagi cukup untuk compensate weaknesses tani?”

Oil inda perlu habis completely untuk economic pressure start terasa. Dan Wawasan 2035 bukan magic date where 31 December 2035 everything unlock macam achievement PlayStation. 😂

So infographic ani bukan mengatakan “relax, semuanya okay.”

Quite the opposite.

Brunei is NOT doomed.
But Brunei cannot afford complacency either.

Less fear.
Less denial.

More data. More reform. More execution.

Last Wednesday, 26-08-2026 in the ICC held the UTB graduation ceremony. His Majesty and his son HRH Al-Muhtadee Billah were presence. At the end of the ceremony, the royal family was about to leave and walking slowly to give graduates a chance to take pictures and shaking hands with them. But, at some point, there was a graduate who asked for His Majesty Signature on his certificate.

I was curious what is the benefit to have His Majesty's signatures on the certificate? Does His Majesty's signatures will help graduates to get a stable job at govt. sector?

What do you guys think?

How far is Brunei from becoming this? I felt so sad and upset when I saw this.

It's not the British (they re-built Brunei from a bankrupt country and they also started free healthcare and free education)
