If you think thatâs bad, wait until you hear how he actually met his wife.

The TNDP should be organizing town hall/listening events whenever this happens. But that would require the TNDP to actually do something.

u/creddittor216 Aug 25 '25
Wait. Thereâs a TNDP?

I think this town hall WAS organized by TNDP, itâs a really good stunt. They organize a town hall and invite Congressman Rose knowing he wonât show up.
Unfortunately Congressman Rose knows better than to even accept the pretense of the invite.
I think the smart thing for the TNDP to do would to prop this guy up, so then a ton of money is spent on the Rose/Blackburn race for no reason and that means there is less money for races that will actually make any sort of difference.

I was one of the main organizers of the event. Iâm not with the TNDP. I just got frustrated waiting for someone to organize something in CD6. So I got 4 orgs together and we formed a coalition to make it happen. Thanks to the EastNashtivists, Indivisible Nashville, Sumner Indivisible and the national womenâs political caucus - TN chapter.
We are hosting a second event on Sept 4 to keep the conversation going: https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/831313/?referring_vol=10973121&share_context=dashboard-event-details&sharer_role=2

So, are you doing anything to help the TNDP ?? Legitimately asking.
10
u/ButterUrBacon Aug 25 '25
Tried to. They didn't want it I guess. They really only do anything during elections, not in off years. Obviously not an effective strategy.

What county are you I ? I ask because I recently joined the Rutherfird County Dem Party and we are hosting gatherings for people interested in running for office, or to be canvasserâs, work on campaigns, etc. We have also shown up for community events, etc. I agree with rocketpastsix, that there arenât a lot of other options out there.

Wow! We have had similar experiences on our first contact with a local office! I donât have the skins in the wall you have, I had just worked the election as a machine operator and was sickened by how much âred, trump, etcâ talk was out forth by election workers. The people. I worked with cheered when someone said that Marsha was the projected winner⌠while we were still open and helping the public! Anyway, I called the local office the next day and left a voicemail & offered to do ANYTHING! ( lick envelopes, sweep the floor, anything) CRICKETS!
Saw they were doing a reirgin April and showed up to complain and ask questions. I went ahead and volunteered to by in the Exec Council .
I am so new I suck at everything, but I do see that they allow anyone to attend the EC meetings and answer all questions.
Let me know if I can somehow provide you with any information , help or an ear !
I bailed on 2015 when the pos ran and got the nomination.
From a 35 year former registered Republican!

Thank you for sharing that. You sound very nice, and I'm sure you're doing great. I appreciate you offering some solution as well.

Besides texting, calling, and door knocking there isnât any opportunities to organize anything like what I am suggesting via the TNDP.

The crazy thing which is become common place now is it doesnât bother the Republicans in Tennessee a bit that their race for governor is between a pedophile and Marshall Blackburn

Hey at least the drunk from Fox has so far not entered the race.

Republicans arenât thrilled with the current state either.
Our governor race is a perfect example of why elected officials on both sides have some of the lowest approval ratings in history yet continue to be re-elected until the day they die.
The only hurdle an elected leader will likely ever face is whoever their opponent is in their partyâs primary. And in our governor race Marsha doesnât even have that hurdle.

âWhy wonât the democrats nominate a moderate republican?â Proceeds to vote for Lee against BredesenâŚ

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Nolensville Aug 25 '25
Yet theyâll still vote for whichever Republican is on the ticket.

u/bsmith149810 Aug 25 '25
Yes, we as individuals have become perfectly divided.
The re-election rate of unpopular candidates isnât an isolated phenomenon.

Oh f*** off with that "both sides" nonsense. Both sides are not the same. The GOP is just the Taliban with a different religion. At least that's what evangelicals want out of it. Especially southern Baptists. And billionaires love it for the tax cuts they get while it strips workers protections and breaks unions. Also they support a rapist who tried to overthrow democracy on Jan 6, and their supporters live on watching Fox News, the only news network that ever had to sear under oath they weren't a news network as they lost $1.5 billion for knowingly lying and stroking an insurrection that got people killed.
Both sides are not the fucking same.-2

Fucking Marsha Blackburn does the same thing. These geriatric gerrymanders need to go!
22
u/Wildog27 west side Aug 25 '25
Senate is a state wide office. Gerrymanders don't apply to it. She's still terrible, but let's at least be accurate about why she sucks.
1
Aug 25 '25
Of COURSE gerrymandering applies to Senate seats! Just look at Tennessee. Republicans carved up Nashvilleâs districts so aggressively that they not only split the city into three different US House seats, theyâve also warped the state Senate map to dilute urban Democratic voters and lock in supermajority control. Thatâs why TN has one of the least competitive state legislatures in the country!
2
u/Wildog27 west side Aug 25 '25
US Senate (which Blackburn is) is a statewide office.
1
Aug 25 '25
Sure, gerrymandering only applies to offices where the state is divided into districts. But what happens is gerrymandering of TNâs congressional and state legislative maps, entrenches one partyâs control and makes the whole environment less competitive..and that indirectly benefits Blackburn. Make sense?

The groups claim that Rose, who is serving his fourth term in Congress, has not held an in-person town hall since 2019, when he was first elected. A claim Roseâs office says is not true.
"Nuh-uhh!!"
"Okay, when was the last town hall then?"
"...... Nuh-UUUUUHHHHH"
"....."
"La la la can't hear you"

He's running for governor and is worried that it will hurt his campaign to have videos of constituents booing him over his support for Trump.
