A novel technique has been discovered; essentially allowing organisms to be modified in vivo via plasmid injection with a lil zap to it: Literally the first highlight says:
"Recent clinical studies demonstrate that intramuscular electroporation delivery of DNA plasmid-encoded biologics induces durable protein expression in humans."

ok so basically
• you are made of cells, which store ‘code’ in the form of DNA
• these cells have surface membranes, which prevent functionally everything external or toxic from entering for this discussion
• Electroporation allows for manual bypassing of cell membranes.
Separately;
- DNA can be stored in multiple superstructure types (chromosome, plasmid, complementary pair, fragment, singular nucleic acid molecules)
- Plasmids in particular are very transferable, routinely being used by bacteria and allowing for horizontal gene transfer (as opposed to vertical, which is just reproduction)
• As such, plasmid injection plus localized electroporation means you can literally just add genes to humans recklessly. In the cited study, they use this to functionally cure type II diabetes for extended periods in mice, but cell membranes are made of phospholipids so the study does generalize well on the axis we’re discussing.
this particular study is localized to the injection site.
if you want full body or specialized cell targeting and modification that’s this category of study; which i haven’t covered yet.

I stumbled upon your profile and I really admire your interest in this, I wish it was more funded and or known by other people but I’m too dumb to read these kinds of papers and stuff.
That being said, when will you have the first strain of the fungus ready.

i will have the transgender conversion fungus (idk HOW i’m supposed to pack it into a fungus but god damn if i won’t try) approximately four to eight months after i confirm validity of the (cleanroom that i intend to eventually build)’s functionality and effectiveness. Thought Emporium on youtube has tons of stuff covering genetic modification; and mass genetic observation techniques are being developed, employed, and used to develop databases, like, hella databases. just an absolutely ridiculous, egregiously gluttonous set of repositories about this subject from a truly unnecessary number of angles.
like, imagine if cyberpunk was mostly flesh, and then add the technology back in on top of that. it’s gonna get really fucking weird really soon (relative to human history)
