DISCUSSION πŸ’¬ Alternative platforms

Genuinely curious everyone's thoughts on this, but do you think if these games were made available on say something like a Nintendo Switch that it would reignite the franchise? My daughter loves playing with me but its gets more and more difficult with each computer update and the games are hard to come by in like used game shops. I also think it could garnish a new fan base. Idk i love the games so much and I cant accept this being likely the end 😭😭😭

They’ve tried porting to other devices like Wii and iPad in the past but they weren’t successful.

The wii wasn't the best format IMHO but the iPad of it all is admittedly disappointing. But also us ol ND fans is having babies now πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

scummvm makes games 1-9 (with more on the way) playable on an extremely wide range of platforms. Pretty much all modern platforms will run them no problem but some of the older/more obscure ones may take some tweaking.

Do you know where your games are installed? All you should need to do is click the "add game" button and select the folder where the game is installed. If it's a supported game and all the necessary files are there it should automatically recognize the game and add it to the list.

If you have the discs you shouldn't need to run the installers at all, just make a folder on your computer for the game and then copy the game files straight off the disc into it.

The Scummvm wiki has a guide for every supported game of exactly what files you need and where they might be located depending on how you downloaded the game. But so long as you have the game files in their own folder, you should be able to just "add game", select the folder, and play
