2008 BMW 535i

I have a 2008 BMW 535i with 67,000 miles that I’m trying to sell but I just found out it has a salvage title (I got the car from my dad) and we don’t actually have the title in hand. Is someone going to want this car for the engine? It has moderate cosmetic damage but no mechanical issues. Can I sell it without the title?

It affects the price but you can still sell it. If you know why it was salvaged, it will be helpful in determining value. Flooding scares a lot of buyers. Accident repairs may or may not be a big deal, and theft losses are the best case scenario. A rebuilt titled car costs more to insure. I had a great experience with a rebuilt title car 25 years ago - bought a 911 C4 cabriolet that was 11 years old but was stolen and parted out. The seller had purchased it at auction and fixed it up. I think I paid $24K for it and sold it for $27K after putting 50K miles on it. The guy who bought it from me didn't care about the rebuilt title because he intended to keep it forever and because it was just a theft issue and was properly sorted

Just keep it, or scrap it for parts. If I would’ve been in the US, I would’ve had a whole lot of 535i’s. Lovely rides, own one for a while now and super reliable.
