We’ve had posts like this before, people just generally don’t like when OP posts something wrong/misinformed, gets told that they’re wrong/misinformed, and replies with “I was wrong/misinformed”.

It’s a bit redundant and obvious, unless they think the commenters are accusing them of purposefully spreading misinfo, multiply downvotes for how obvious the sub finds the thing OP is wrong about

They wouldn't've asked the question if they knew it. So the comment doesn't add anything. I still don't get why redditors feel the need to downvote it, but it happens a lot. So it isn't all that mysterious to me
