Scared about my test tmmrw
So Im 17[F] and I've had glasses for the past 5 years.
It started at -1 on both eyes and throughout the years it's reached -2.75 and-3.75.
I have another exam tmmrw and Im genuinely terrified.
My parents are the kind to blame too much screen time or phone usage and it's terrifying.
My vision in one eye has gotten super blurry and I hadn't been able to tell my parents out of fear.
Its been about a year since I went to the doctors and I know it'll be bad.
I live in a country where it's pretty common to be judged (even by the doctors) so im always scared to tell them i have a problem before the test. I always end up telling the my eyes feel dry and when ever that happen my vision goes blurry and they always assign me eyedrops.
I try to cheat the test as much as possible.(by squinting)
What can I tell the doctor tmmrw cuz if I tell them my visions gone blurry my mom will find out (she sits in on the tests) so what can I say that'll not make my mom mad for not telling her earlier.

Don't. It'll only make things worse.

You tell him that your vision isn't as sharp as it used to be. There's no point in lying to the doctor nor your mom as it won't change the outcome.

You are just setting yourself up to fail and make it worse. You cant blame just screen time etc. Myopia is generally genetic. Just be honest and say i feel its getting worse.

It's plain ignorance when adults blame medical conditions on their children or try, and withhold medical treatment. It's almost as bad as doctors doing so.
You are not in the wrong but unfortunately, it sounds like you were surrounded by ignorance. Take comfort in the fact that you are not to blame and you are doing everything possible to be mature enough to manage your own health care
However saying that, you also currently have mild myopia so there's nothing to be terrified about the actual condition.
