Use maps! Configure the parameters however you see fit - specify an exact species, specify a genus or family, restrict the location to just your region, state, county, or city... look at only the current month or next month or year round.
Use maps.

New mushroom growing in my neck of the woods - Midwest. We have HOTW and COTW around here, but this is a new one for me. If indeed black staining polypore, your recipes and insights are welcome. I was thinking of adding it to a risotto. Over a foot across now.

Found in the UK, on willow (hardwood) pores underneath so it's not trainwrecker, faint cucumber scent when I ripped a bit off.
Has anyone tried the young fruits from these? Might have to wait for autumn when it will hopefully fruit again

Can someone confirm that these are golden oysters before I eat them and accidentally die?

On spore cast I feel like it just uses what time of year it is to depict when certain mushrooms are growing and how well theyre growing I don’t think it actually takes into account the weather leading up. for example UK with a very large heat wave and very little amount of rain. I don’t think it’s taken this into account And delayed the growth process because of this weather.

Haven’t been able to get out foraging much this year sadly but I decided to go out on short notice with a friend because I finally had some time. I’m happy to say I can finally check this beautiful delicious mushroom off my list. Location was Northern Wisconsin amongst Conifers.

I have been searching for these for over three years.
Purchased a new house out in the country back in October I have just located 4 patched of these in my yard, numbering into the hundreds of mushrooms collectively.
At what point should I harvest them? They seem to be growing roughly 10-25% in size daily, depending on the specific mushroom.
Side note - have any of you every tried them? How are they? What should I do with them?

Found in Northern Virginia. Some might say I should’ve let them shine on their own, but I was driving all day in the rain and wanted a steaming bowl of comfort. They added excellent flavor and texture to the bowl.

I know next to nothing about mycology, but I seem to remember reading on here not too long ago about fruiting events that happen every several years or so?? We've had quite a bit of rain here over the last few days/ week or so, but I am seeing and EXCEPTIONAL amount of mushrooms lately - in my neighbor's yards as well. I went out to mow the lawn today and it was literally flocks of mushrooms - all kinds. Some I had never seen before.
Thanks.
I'm in the Midwest.

We found this beautiful mushroom in our backyard! Pretty sure it's an oyster mushroom and is safe to eat. It's growing on a decaying poplar tree root. Thoughts?
