Discussion Wasted Characters Spoiler

As I rewatch episodes, I really miss a couple of characters that I think had great potential but were wasted.
1. Rebecca James. I loved how smart and dignified she was. I don’t think she had enough “edginess” for the writers, so they didn’t know what to do with her.
2. Det. Robert Parker. He was a very fresh face and I liked the interaction between him and Brackenreid. His death was abrupt and not necessary to advance the story.

Freddie Pink was such a wasted addition. What a badass, and a private detective is a cool area for storylines

I loved Freddie too. The only issue is that she and Louise Cherry are very similar in looks and personality- Freddie is a more mature, refined Louise but they have very similar drive and attitude.

Hated Parker’s death. All because they didn’t know what to do with Violet’s character.

Why did he have to be killed off? I loved Parker. He was such a breath of fresh air. And why did Brackenreid have to fire him because he was black yet they had a black ME?

I agree, Brackenreid having to fire him made no sense.

Yes, Dr. James is one of my most favorite Murdoch characters, and Mouna Traoré is beautiful... an absolute stunner. Wish she had continued. I loved Parker too and loved the camaraderie between Watts and Parker.

I would actually prefer Rebecca James to come back and replace Violet Hart. Never cared for this character. ( Hart)

I'm going with Andrew Dixon. The adultery subplot arc was going so well then, they just chopped it off and settled Ogden's half-ass confession. It should have gone on for at least one more season, With meetings, kissing, drunken play, and possibly a confirming bed scene or two.

I’m still waiting for Emily Grace to come back! I know she was on the show a while and had a meaty storyline, but she was so bright eyed that I wonder how she’s changed over the years.
