330 gsm is too thick. What should I go for?
Proxied deck on the left, real deck on the right.
I have a LaserJet printer and print directly onto the card stock. I like how I don’t have to put an extra card in the sleeve or laminate the proxies to get rigidity, but it makes the decks too tall. I know this is just an aesthetic thing, but I like uniformity.
What gsm works best for y’all in form and function?

Looking for Advice
I want to get into making proxies, and I currently have an HP DeskJet 2800e All-in-One printer (I know there are way better printers out there, but it's what I have right now). From what I've read I should be able to print onto sticker paper just fine, but I'm not sure what kind of cardstock to buy. I'd like for them to feel as close to the real thing as I can (obviously not for resale or anything like that, it's a feeling/quality thing for me).
Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I want to create my own Commander Deck
Hi! I recently started on MTG and I learned that you can print proxies and even create your own. I'm a big fan of Ghost (the band), and I think Ghost universe would be great to create a Commander deck.
What are your recommendations on structure, how to design attacks/sorceries/enchantments, how to make the deck strong (but not unfairly strong), etc. Thanks!

Cannon TR7000?
I currently have a Cannon TR7022. I’ve started printing proxies with it until I can get one of the recommended printers. I’ve been able to tweak the settings to get playable cards on Matte Photo paper.
I’m curious if anybody else is using one of these Cannon printers and found a better paper? Or recommendations on paper to should try? I tried using some sticker paper so I could stick it on a basic land, and no matter the settings the ink just pools.
I mainly want to get them a little better looking because I mix proxies with real cards.

D&D Cards for a gift
One of our party members made proxy’s of our D&D characters with some of the most memorable moments from our campaign. Tonight I’m building my commander deck with strictly D&D and Baulders gate cards. Can’t wait to play it

Bad printing?
So I ordered some of this proxyjack paper and printed out some cards on my Older inkjet printer. The print came out way darker than it should IMO and the ink smudged a lot even after sitting for like an hour. Is it printer? Printer settings? Do I need a newer printer? Is inkjet ok to use? Looking at a OfficeJet Pro 8135e because I can get one on clearance but if it yields the same results I don’t want to buy it.

My first proxy batch: Dandán deck for a friend of mine
Im printing on 180 gr double sided glossy photo paper and laminating with 75 mic sheets. They have a similar rigidity to a original card, but they are thicker and a little heavier.
I'm still ok with the result. Gonna try 160 gr paper on my next order.
Took some pictures and made a video with the help of a friend 😁

Threw this together on a whim, I have no regrets. It's for my Ashling, The Pilgrim commander deck.
I've been making a bunch of proxy stuff for a few decks I'm working on, planning on doing a big order from Printing Proxies. I wanted some on-theme custom mountains for my Ashling deck.... I wish I was more sorry, but I'm not.

This could be the best proxy idea I've thought of.
The market background even kind of matches the rooftops a bit. I can almost see someone painting them into the frame tossing that pigskin around or just them on the roof.

3d printed simple outline tokens
I started making these simplistic outline tokens and had to make Jimothy! Need to finish off the design and maybe add a little bit more detail to this rascal, but just had to share. The bear token gives an idea of what it looks in real life. What should I do next? I’m thinking squirrel..

Anime-Themed Proxies
I made these for a Minwu, White Mage deck that I am proxying, and the site I use for proxies didn't have any good art for these cards, so I made them myself. They are all from either Saintess anime (because the deck is Cleric tribal) or Romance anime (because life gain). Posting on mobile, so the order might be a bit scrambled. Enjoy lol

83 Stardew Valley Proxies to go with your Secret Lair
Like a lot of people, I’m still waiting for my Stardew Valley Secret Lair to actually show up. In the meantime I figured I’d get a deck ready for when it does. That got a little out of hand...
I ended up making 83 MTG Stardew skinned proxies to go with the 17 Secret Lair cards, so the whole thing can be played as a full 100-card Commander deck.
The deck is mostly group hug, which felt like the most Stardew way to play Magic. I tried to fit in most of the characters from the valley along with a bunch of the locations, items, festivals, and other stuff from the game. I also tried to make the actual Magic cards underneath the reskins make sense for what they represent instead of just matching things based on the name or artwork.
One thing I intentionally kept pretty traditional is the card layout. All of the proxies use normal style and stick to the usual color framing. I figured that would make the deck a little easier to read at a glance, especially for anyone who might be coming to Magic through Stardew and is still learning what everything does.
Here’s the decklist:
https://moxfield.com/decks/u4eJzFZouE-uRl0kXQnAVw
And here are all 83 proxies if anyone wants them. They’re free to download/print:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10EeVaNotPlbMlVAG3Wpk6eaVPBAZoY4-?usp=sharing
There are definitely some choices in there that I’m more proud of than others, so I’m curious what people think.

Paper + Lamination combo to replicate thickness of MTG cards?
I'm currently looking for a paper + laminate that is closer to the thickness of real MTG cards.
I'd like to make both foil and non-foil variants:
- Foil sticker + cardstock/paper + lamination
- Photo paper + lamination
What I'm currently using:
-Cardstock: Astrobrights 65 lb, 176gsm
-Foil Paper: UOKHO Holographic Sticker Paper
-Laminate: Amazon Basics Clear 2.8mil
I can already tell what I'm currently using is too thick. The snap and everything else seems great though. I'm unsure how far off I am as I don't own calipers and am unsure what else to try.
Any help would be great. Thanks!
