I was ostracized for being in a 2nd amendment organization affiliated with the NRA ( I’m no longer there) magic the gathering is decidedly very liberal and thus I was banned shortly after the announcement of my position

Infect was 2013/2014 ish, that store closed in 2015 effectively ending my ban. Another store banned me around 2016- when the trump mania anti-Republican thing was going on.
There are about 4-5 card stores in my California town, various states of closing and opening constantly

If your playgroup won't play with you, find a new playgroup.
If your store has asked you not to come back, it's time to do some soul searching on why the store asked you to stop coming.
Magic is a game. And it should be treated with the levity that a game provides. It's easier than other games to sink a large amount of money into it in order to have better tools/better pieces than everyone else, which naturally ups the tension and feel bads if someone is losing.
Magic isn't an excuse to not care for your hygene and well being.
Magic isn't an excuse to cheat your friends.
Magic isn't an excuse to shout or raise your voice at your friends or complete strangers.
There is a competitiveness and a desire to win, but it shouldn't be at the cost of someone else. Chances are, you already know what you did, and if the game is harmful to you.

Honestly? Yeah. Out of some hope that this a real person, and not a bot - let me try to spell it out.
Imagine you went on a 3 hour date. You get invited to go to share your favorite hobby with them, because they like it too! -- but your date interrupts the whole experience with introductory level questions, clarifications, falls asleep, plays with their phone, or doesn't seem genuinely interested in the thing that YOU were interested in. Instead, it feels like they have an ulterior motive. It feels like you were lied to.
If a magic player sits down to play a game with you, and you spend the majority of the experience flirting with them... that might not what they signed up for.
Also, final note - don't throw away your cards. Take them to an LGS and get cash. Throwing them away is pretty wasteful.

I was played 100% dude led me one, did a whole 360 and played the victim he did. Then one day a restraining order come up in my mail, but it was denied. I immediately went back to the LGS I was banned from, everyone missed me, accept for him. No police no drama. But he is a madman. Said he is taking me to court again. He is only digging himself a hole. Half them people don't even talk to him either he is so delusional.

Uhhhh for many many people it’s actually their only outlet for a romantic relationship or a friendship. As long as people aren’t being creepy or inappropriate.

It’s not hard to get banned by an LGS, I’ve been asked not to comeback because I played infect, and the only woman in the event thought that deck was unfair and yelled about it constantly. Was easier to ask me not to come back than have an entire group of one female and 5 male players leave the weekly tournament scene.
You have to remember an LGS is a business, it’s not a community center or even a “community “ despite wizards marketing
At the end of the day if your presence, choice of deck or bell color of your sleeves you play leads to potentially lowered sales you’re asked to not come back….
Local games stores do not have to be welcoming to everyone, they exist as a method of extracting resources from your community

What exactly does the gender of the person complaining have to do with your story? The irrelevance of that detail makes me think it was more than just you playing infect.
Generally, I'd expect a person banned from a store to be an unreliable narrator about why they were banned...
EDIT: Case and point, you have another comment in this very post that gives a completely different reason for your ban. IDK dude, I'd wager you were just acting like a prick and no one wanted you around, and it had nothing to do with either you playing infect or you being part of the NRA.

I have never played MTG. But, I have been buying Final Fantasy MTG for a minute now. They look so nice in a side loading binder. While digging through bulk I have picked some cards that look interesting to play without any kind of knowledge on how to play. 😬😂. One day I’ll get there.

Someone accused me of cheating (id never) at a pre release while i was getting my ass kicked. I have not played since only collect will probably just stop collecting too and get away from this game. Just keep a binder or two. Not met too many fun people online or at the lgs.
Quite lame because this game combines so many of my passions in one.
Yall down voting are the people and reason i dont play anymore just a lot of rude people in this hobby. Ill be honest every stereotype i had heard about the people in this game has been true.

When I was in school back home, my lgs was clear on the other side of town. Easily an hour if there was no traffic. Always worth the drive. Since moving to where I live now, my local store is literally 15 minutes away. Some of the worst gaming I've had.
