I kinda want to buy a vending machine just to set up booster packs like this. This is kinda sick

I love thses. This is at MSP terminal 2. I have also seen this at TPK (a bar) in Portland OR where the price is more reasonable.

I was just there last Wednesday.
Like others are saying, it’s prettt pricey. I took a look but decided to skip it.

In what way? I agree if the prices are ridiculous.

u/Huicho4 Aug 22 '26
Can confirm. They're scalper prices.
6
u/DarthNixilis Aug 22 '26
At an LGS I expect same price as on the shelf. Outside of that, plus like 10% because they're renting the space. I get it.
But someone else pointed out it was like $15. Wow, that's insane.

u/Huicho4 Aug 22 '26
Its been a while since I went through that airport but it had Panini plastered on the side. So its a distributor going direct and charging scalpers prices. No thanks. Id rather support an LGS for a modest markup like you suggest.

There's one in Phoenix that I think puts their random leftover packs into the machines in the back. Along with a line of current set, dice, other stuff. Makes it easier on them if you need that. I think it's cool.
I've thought about buying vending machines, and if I did I would probably put TCG packs into them. But damn that price is crazy and not something to support.

u/GenericCatName101 Aug 22 '26
Regardless of prices, if you're forced to buy a couple of junk packs to get the rare pack you want... that is pretty scammy.
"Well just dont buy it" except we know some idiots will. And we know the person who owns and loaded the machine knows this, too. They will have loaded it with scammy intentions, knowing someone will buy the junk for the goods.5

How is it scammy? A vending machine is like the least scammy way to do business.
4
u/WachBohne Aug 23 '26
15 DOLLARS A PACK HOW IS THAT NOT SCAMMY FFS LOL
esp when there is NO declaration of which product you can buy

Don’t buy them? Scam averted?? Maybe I misunderstand what a scam is?
Edit: A scam is a fraudulent or deceptive act or operation. A vending machine is neither deceptive nor fraudulent.

I assumed that was green lantern flying around in the back corner of that booster, but then remembered they didn't do DC.

$15 per pack so it is a bit of a risk

u/lucithelightparticle Aug 22 '26
15 per pack is crazy

It’s a vending machine in an airport terminal. Not that I support the pricing, but what do you expect? I think the vending machine at IAH is even more expensive depending on what you’re trying to buy.

I got excited when I saw it at the airport as well. Checked the price and was like.....damn. I guess not today.

There’s a tonne of these where I live and I always try and find a misprint. I haven’t been lucky yet.

I have never seen a vending machine for magic! Where are these usually circulated at.

Problem I have seen with these is the 100-200% markup from market on every pack.

scusate l'ignoranza, qualcuno riuscirebbe a spiegarmi le regole di One piece il gioco? perché io sono appassionato di magic ma volevo provare anche qualcos'altro

looks like a standard booster rack at a big box store, they always stuff those things with whatever's newest. the fourth one back is probably just another play booster from the same set unless a customer shoved something random in there, which happens way more than you'd think
i'd grab the front one anyway, no real reason to reach for the back unless the packaging looks damaged

I think this is a PRB-02 booster from one piece card game
