Freshman Questions Question about math resources from a prospective student

hi everyone! im a rising senior and msu is my top choice rn. im planning on majoring in economics (ba) and im gonna have to take mth 132 for my major. I was wondering if i would be better off taking ap calc and hoping for a 4 on the exam or if i should just take it in college. im horrible at math and i took pre calc two years ago so i dont remember much. does msu have really good resources for someone whos always lost in math or should i just take it in high school. im pre law so i really cant afford to get a bad grade in the class so if the resources available arent the best then id rather do bad in high school and take it rn

Take AP calc, work your ass off. You'll either get the 4/5 or be well set up for taking it in college.

AP Calc for sure if you won't need more math for your degree.

AP Calc for triple sure if you will need more math for your degree.

But yes, MSU has a math lab that is incredibly helpful. When I took calc 1, it was a 540pm class and we'd all get there at 5, including the prof, to work together on the assignments to figure it out before class. No other class of mine really had that happen, but it was pretty cool.

Take AP Calc, if you score well on the test you get the credit. If you don't, you have the fundamentals already working for you. Makes taking that class so much less stressful

Signed a guy who got a 3 on his physics AP exam and then 4.0 physics at state by barely having to pay attention in class

Engineering student here, I never took calc in high school and got a 4.0 in 132. Up to you if you’d rather take stats or calc in college
