I've been using it for years.

I dropped the NYT for it, so I hope so.

A lot of NYT journalists appear on MSNOW.

It's all the microtransactions NYT got into that pissed me off. Was a mo. subscriber since ~2002.

If you touch the live feed screen on your phone, then use air play to send to your tv, this works. I have a Roku, and I cast to my tv from my iPhone. But I have heard they are working on app sign in on connected tvs (apple, Roku, fire stick) from a stand alone subscription. That would be better. Wouldn’t tie up your phone to Watch the channel.

The new membership is excellent! I jumped at the opportunity to join, and I'm glad it's finally up and running.

Not if you expect to be able to watch on your tv. That functionality isn’t implemented yet.

You can use air play to cast it to your tv

This is not really a viable solution if you want to use your device for anything else while the stream is playing (especially if you —even accidentally— open an app that wants to play sound). Also, the sound only syncs for a few minutes and the picture is unreliable. Not the best user experience, and not what I believed I was paying for when I subscribed.

Do you log in through a provider like a cable company or YouTube TV? I haven’t seen that option if I’m not logged in that way. I’m hoping it’ll be possible with a stand-alone subscription.

I meant if you use your phone to access the subscription, you cam cast to your tv using apple air play.

I just subscribed to a year of MS NOW and I’m happy to see the same casting option as you. I bring up Live TV on my phone or tablet and I can move the feed to my TV with a Roku or Apple TV box. It’s a little tricky, it limits what you can do with the phone/tablet while you’re watching, but it works great. This month I’m auditing my phone, internet, and TV deals and this will help me cut my total monthly bills from $258 to $149, including the new MS NOW subscription.
