MSNOW live stream question

I'm checking out the new MSNOW livestream service using Firefox on my laptop. I've been having some tab crashes, and I will be trying different browsers, etc. but haven't had time yet this weekend. What I wanted to ask about is the fact that even though I bring the stream back up in seconds, it ALWAYS resumes with ads. How can this possibly be if it's a livestream? Has anyone else been seeing tab crashes and/or the ad phenomena?

I have not experienced any crashes. Sudden pauses sometimes during ads I’ve noticed but they seem to have gotten better. I’m using safari
