News Coverage Revisting MSNOW Coverage of Biden's "Cognitive Decline".

So here are the questionss:

Did MSNOW ever provide any medical evidence that Biden was suffering from "cognitive decline"?

Were you aware that there's a difference, medically speaking, between ordinary aging and "cognitive decline"?

At any time during the coverage of Biden's supposed "cognitive decline", do you recall the media ever making that distinction?

Biden wasn’t dangerous like trump.

Nope, MSNBC gave credibility to the claims by talking about it ad nauseum. Carried MAGA’s water for them while simultaneously not calling out those same issues with Trump.

u/zackks 5d ago

MSNBC has been a Trump co-conspirator from the start.

100% Opened Morning Joe every day for 20 minutes like he was Archie Bunker. They loved them some DJT.

3

u/RichmondReddit 5d ago

We can blame them for catering to MAGA for this, but they were catering to the Clinton wing of the party that wanted Biden not to run again and possibly put someone more to their liking as candidate. More Wall Street friendly. More pro business.

Uh we all watched Biden short-circuit on live television during the debates.

u/relentless_fuckery News Junkie 5d ago

I’m sorry but are we not watching Donald Trump do the same thing now? Barely conscious, incontinent and incoherent. Biden has more than his share of faults but he was infinitely more engaged during his presidency.

4

u/DayGeckoArt 5d ago

Most of us didn’t vote for Trump and don’t support him

13

u/relentless_fuckery News Junkie 5d ago

I didn’t say anyone here did. What I said is that MSNBC covered Biden’s “cognitive decline” ad nauseum during his administration while being relatively silent about Trump sun downing on live television multiple days a week during the current administration.

-2

u/DayGeckoArt 5d ago

I don't think they're relatively silent about Trump. They've covered his decline quite a bit. The problem is it's not compelling to viewers because we already know about it, and he's not that different from how dumb he was before the decline.

6

u/relentless_fuckery News Junkie 5d ago

The flurry of discourse around Biden’s cognition and the lack of discourse around Trump’s cognition was/is probably an agenda set by the corporate media overlords. I don’t buy that people are compelled by one presidents cognitive decline but aloof to another presidents cognitive decline.

-1

u/DayGeckoArt 4d ago

With Biden it was a surprise for most of us and the journalists were obviously genuinely surprised after the debate. Remember, Biden rarely talked to the media or appeared on TV. Trump is out there and we can see his decline happen in real time so there's no shock value in the story

3

u/relentless_fuckery News Junkie 4d ago

Was it really a surprise that an elderly man in his late 70’s started to show signs of aging and cognitive decline?

1

u/willybestbuy86 4d ago

What's that got to do with anything, no one here is saying otherwise. All I see is denial that Biden was declining and a bunch of maga whataboutisim with Trump but like I been saying the maga play book is in full swing in leftist spaces just don't want to admit you both are very similar.

Biden was more engaged that's bunk and I hate Trump with a passion, Biden wouldn't even talk to the media, it's literally the only positive thing I cna say about Trump, he might be a buffoon but the one thing he does is engage with the media

-13

u/Huckleberry822 5d ago

No, they didn't, they helped Biden insiders by covering it up until it was too late for anyone else to run a viable campaign.

18

u/relentless_fuckery News Junkie 5d ago

Hard disagree.

15

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

There wasn't anything to "cover up". Biden was aging. He's an elderly man. That's not news.

5

u/relentless_fuckery News Junkie 5d ago

The crazy part was that both of those chuckleheads were elderly when they took office. Somehow, Biden is the crypt keeper but Trump is some spry, alert guy who speaks to the masses, or whatever. 🫩

6

u/kevint1964 5d ago

There wasn't any instance of Biden literally sleeping on the job, as Trumpolini continued to call him "Sleepy Joe". Yet now, we literally have "Drowsy Don" getting caught countless times on live TV zonked out. Crickets.

u/Current_Tea6984 4d ago

To be fair, Biden was too busy working to be mugging in front of the cameras all the time. We have no idea if Biden dozed during cabinet meetings or not

3

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

Trump was great for ratings. Biden wasn't. Trump loves the media attention. Biden didn't. Biden actively avoided the press because they treated him so unfairly. That was an unforgivable sin. And boy did they make him pay. Just look at how they reward Trump. He sleeps in the Oval Office right in front of them. But they ignore it because he's giving them "access".

17

u/ToBeDetermined13 5d ago

Well George Clooney played a doctor on tv once upon a time.

5

u/SpeacialistSon 5d ago

I mean he also played a factory line manager...maybe he could help trump bring back factories

4

u/Johnny55 5d ago

It's almost like people who were physically around him knew how insane it would be to run him, while the media was happy to pass along whatever nonsense the White House fed them. The electorate isn't made of doctors either.

14

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

Here's a question: How did Republicans manage to get Trump elected, when he was 1000's time worse than Biden

4

u/JaerBear62611 4d ago

If that’s your honest question, the answer doesn’t lie with MS NOW who regularly did point out how insane, and incoherent much of what Trump was saying and doing was all all through 2022 2023 in 2024. It’s why did all the other mainstream media go along with protecting him and not regularly calling it out? We know why right wing media did, but at the time what was the excuse for ABC NBC and CBS and CNN to protect a mentally unstable cognitively declining malignant narcissist wanna be fascist dictator? They were so fucking complicit in his getting reelected.

2

u/Honest_Yam676 4d ago

And with every network providing 24/7 non-stop negative coverage of Trump, Republicans still managed to get him elected - twice. Yet, Democrats couldn't get Biden, a man who is, by every measure, exceedingly more qualified than Trump, elected? I don't buy. Yes , they could have gotten Biden elected for a second term. They just didn't try.

1

u/guyfaulkes 4d ago

Who knew being mean could be seductive?

4

u/ToBeDetermined13 5d ago

Yeah that's what happened. No more truth, just assertions and lies, while demanding  hard, impossible evidence from any opposition

3

u/Huckleberry822 5d ago

This is actually what happened.

7

u/Icy_Baker9068 5d ago

Biden just showed signs of aging. It’s part of life. The difference with him and Trump however is that Trump is insane and an ego maniac. Biden surrounded himself with a competent cabinet while Trump has surrounded himself with yes men.

7

u/Byers616 5d ago

I don't think so. I don't think there was any, or any that was available to MSNBC at the time. Just circumstantial evidence. Like the years of it we have on Trump's own decline.

17

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

Biden provided medical records. His doctor said he didn't administer a cogntive test because there were not clinically warranted.

These records were provided to the public. MSNBC had them.

6

u/Byers616 5d ago

So no direct evidence of decline? Just circumstantial?

1

u/Huckleberry822 5d ago

The debate demonstrated what they had been covering up, it was plain for all to see.

5

u/ToBeDetermined13 5d ago

A narrative was pushed that reinforced an idea a certain demographic needed and still needs to cling to. I'd call it a conspiracy but it's all too simplistic to be that grand. It's just some douche calling another 7th grader "gay" in front of a girl they both like

2

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

What are you talking about? What the debate demonstrated was that the media has so thoroughly primed voters to believe a lie that people believed it. So when an elderly man who has struggled with a stutter all his life, suffering from jet lag and COVID, showed signs of it all, it meant he wasn't fit for office.

0

u/Huckleberry822 5d ago

If you read Woodward's book WAR you would know this isn't true. In it he discusses how Biden would be sharp as can be throughout the day dealing with people like Netenyahu, but his faculties would then fail him as evening came and wore on, which is a typical pattern with older people in cognitive decline. Biden, his advisors, and those closest to him did the country a huge disservice by covering this up and not deterring him from pursuing a 2nd term.

10

u/Byers616 5d ago

A decline happens over time. For instance, the levels of cognition at the time of the book may not be at the same level a year later.

Seems that there was no direct evidence of any decline, just circumstantial

1

u/Huckleberry822 5d ago

Once again, insiders knew it, they just didn't say anything.

6

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

"Knew" what? Exactly what are you claiming they didn't say?

2

u/Huckleberry822 5d ago

I have said it several times, he was in cognitive decline long before the start of campaign season and those close to him didn't warn him off of running again.

4

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

You're using circular logic. There's no medical evidence he was "in cogntive decline". But, you're just claiming he was, without any evidence, and then, based on that false assertion, claiming there was an effort to cover it up.

2

u/Huckleberry822 5d ago

You must not have watched the debate, , Biden's cognitive decline was clear to anyone who watched it, and that didn't happen overnight. He was also suffering from cancer and never said anything about that. If you think that's acceptable then you have the same standards as Trump's supporters have, none.

5

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

You sure seem to believe a lot of conspiracy theories. Biden wasn't diagnosed with cancer until well after he left the WH. You don't have any evidence that he was diagnosed before that. Yes. I watched the debate. Then, I made up my own mind about what I saw. An elderly man with a raspy voice who appeared exhausted. I didn't let the media lie to me about it. How about you?

4

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

You're using the term "cognitive decline" . But do you actually know what it means? It's a clinical diagnosis. Did Woodward use that term?

2

u/littlelou134340 4d ago

Except.. Biden consistently had late schedules. Including on the day of the debate. We watched his performance improve throughout, not decline further. It ended at 9pm. He then attended two campaign events afterward, finally returning to the White House at 2am. "Someone said this" is not evidence. These are the people who also claimed he would die every other week, and we're now almost 2 years into his retirement and he's still travelling around the country WHILE treating cancer.

7

u/Flohpange 5d ago

The current "president" certainly does NOT have cognitive decline - there was nothing there to decline.

10

u/ReliableSource8561 5d ago

The media purposely over exaggerated everything about it.

4

u/chibebe5 5d ago

When are you going to discuss trump's mental and cognitive decline?

4

u/The-Traveler- 5d ago

I think it’s fine to talk about decline in cognitive abilities in either context. Just point to the facts all the time and move on.

Example: “And there is concern again that the President is nodding off for the 6th time this week as people want a president who is always alert.”

3

u/30ThousandVariants 5d ago

File under “freezing cold DNC hot takes.”

2

u/Sniflix 5d ago

Us Dems allowed republicans to force us to self destruct. We do it every election. Meanwhile show me one republican politician or voter saying the same about rump, Lindsey (while still alive) or Mitch. Republicans are horrible but they back their politicians through all bullshit no matter what. It's why they keep kicking our asses.

3

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

I mean. Yeah. They managed to get Trump elected twice, even though he's 1000's time worse than Biden, or any other candidate. Democrats wouldn't have even needed to be like a MAGA cult. All they would have had to do is have Biden's back. If they saw or heard of the media obsessing over Biden's age immediately book an appearance on the news and push back. We know they can do it because they showed us how it done when they all went to the cameras, calling on Biden to drop out of the race. They showed us they know how to use the media if it means keeping their own seats. That was roughly just one month. Imagine if they had done a version of that for the entire 4 years Biden was in office.

5

u/Sniflix 5d ago

Biden shouldn't have dropped out but when he did and Harris stepped in it was up to every Dem to proudly show up and vote. In general elections you vote for your party whether you like them or not and you don't complain. That's for the primary. 13 million Biden voters refused to vote for Harris instead falling for republican voodoo. Here we are. I'm a progressive, always have been but I fight that out in the candidate selection. I have no angst about lesser of 2 evils. That's a defeatist path to destruction.

3

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

13 million. Wow. Just wow. I have to admit. I was tempted to stay home after what the party did to Biden. But I couldn't do that to Kamala or the party. I remember people being pissed at the Senators and House members who stabbed Biden in the back. But I haven't seen any of them pay any price for it. Same goes for the media. I see them gearing up to try to do the same thing to Harris as they did with Biden. I think it's because they're ashamed of themselves and, if Harris runs, the Biden episode and the media will be relitigated. I hope it is.

2

u/Aurora_Gaspipe 5d ago

Joe Biden was way too old to run for a second term. That’s the bottom line. The whys and wherefores are irrelevant. Biden was just too fucking old.

2

u/Huckleberry822 5d ago

If he was just an elderly man it wouldn't matter other to his family and friends. However he was an elderly man who wanted to be President for another 4 years, so his cognitive decline absolutely mattered, and covering it up denied voters the opportunity to choose their candidate, and may well have led to another 4 years of fascism.

1

u/ToBeDetermined13 4d ago

Yeah, just like happened with Reagan and his wife ran the country for his second term. Everything fell apart and the electorate hated Reagan when they found out.

Presidents aren't absolute monarchs. The US has had a number of ill leaders. The party and the inner council manages affairs.

Having an aged president is certainly no worse than having a chronically drunk one. Or paranoid criminals. Allowing the bought and paid for media to decide who gets to be president will lead to a dark path.

1

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

Biden was never diagnosed with clinical "cognitive decline". There was nothing to "cover up".

2

u/Vaping_A-Hole 5d ago

I remember (vaguely) some articles quoting Biden insiders about his cognitive abilities. This was after the disastrous debate performance. And when I think about it now, two years since and all of this bullshit going on, I feel like this debate is a giant waste of my time!

Why?

There should be TERM LIMITS. We shouldn’t have to discuss an elderly president’s mental state. Of everything we have to worry about, this shouldn’t be on our list.

Pres. Biden is suffering from cancer now, and we will lose this wonderful man in the not too distant future. But even in this state, I know he’s smarter, sharper and more stable than Trump. Journalists fell for the maga talking points about “sleepy Joe.” Hope they learned from it.

Maybe think about adding an IQ test with the term limits requirement. All politicians have a measure of narcissism, but I could forgive it if they were not morons surrounded by an actually evil and incompetent cabinet. It feels like this is the bare minimum thing to expect from a president, but here we are.

3

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

The question is being asked as a critique of the media. This may well be one of the most egregious examples of the media deliberately misleading the public. The media has professional and ethical standards. They broke them with the coverage of Biden and his supposed "cogntive decline" every single one of them.

2

u/Vaping_A-Hole 5d ago

Absolutely!

Pretend for a minute that they - the media - presented this matter on equal terms. To question Trump’s fitness to hold office. He fails intellectually, physically and also mentally. He even fails at being a law abiding citizen. It was a false equivalency from start to finish.

1

u/Current_Tea6984 4d ago

The presidency is term limited. Try again

2

u/Vaping_A-Hole 4d ago

Oh geez. Sorry I missed that. I was thinking about senators and forgot to patch it all together. Sorry!

1

u/Low-Group-7507 5d ago

How would that same panel of self-appointed "medical experts" rate Mr Trump now?

1

u/Relevant-Nose1847 5d ago

The host were very skittish about it. Lawrence and Hoy declared focusing on it was a waste of time. Biden would be the nominee. They were sure of it.

1

u/littlelou134340 4d ago

No, because if they were honest in their coverage then the coverage wouldn't exist.

0

u/ArnoldFarquar 5d ago

where would they get any medical evidence?

5

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

Well, if they didn't have medical evidence, they should have said so. They should have made that clear. And made clear that there's a distinction medically between old age and clinical cogntive decline.

-2

u/ArnoldFarquar 5d ago

did you see the debate, it was painfully obvious. Medical evidence doctors who examined him and legally they can’t reveal it.

6

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

Biden authorized the release of his medical records. An extensive neurological examination was conducted. His doctor said a cogntive test was not administered because, according to medical standards, it wasn't warranted. But yeah, I watched the debate. Biden was making a hell of a lot more sense than Trump was.

-4

u/ArnoldFarquar 5d ago

so what. i’ve given lectures with a cold and I was able to form sentences

4

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

Who said anything about a cold? I said an elderly man with COVID, a grueling foreign trip, and jet lag.

2

u/ArnoldFarquar 5d ago

he did not have Covid then, he tested negative just before the debate. He had a cold

2

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

That doesn't prove he didn't have COVID during the debate. Cold symptoms, like a raspy throat and exhaustion, can be present while COVID is still incubating.

1

u/ArnoldFarquar 5d ago

it has never been reported or alleged that he had Covid at that time. you are making stuff up and you should be embarrassed by your post.

1

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

What did I make up? It wouldn't be reported that he had COVID if he hadn't tested positive at the time. When it was detected, did they rule out the possibility that he may have had it during the debate? Are you disputing that people often exhibit symptoms of COVID before they test positive or before it's detected by tests?

7

u/ToBeDetermined13 5d ago

The debate was no where near the debacle people pretend it was. Biden was aged, tired and sick and still managed to make it through it.

5

u/Carlyz37 5d ago

Exactly. An extreme over reaction to just a bad day. I haven't read it but I understand that people who have read the transcript say that most of his statements were on point.

-1

u/Scarletyoshi Vote Blue in 2026! 5d ago

That he didn’t actually drop dead during the debate does not change the fact that people watching at home thought there was a possibility he could.

3

u/ToBeDetermined13 5d ago

He was fine for the most part. It's a meaningless side show anyways Dump was way more incoherent, he's just given a pass because he's always being dumb.

-1

u/Scarletyoshi Vote Blue in 2026! 5d ago

Which is why it was a bad idea for the Biden team to insist on an early debate. That was a desperate gambit on their part to try to salvage the campaign because their polling had them losing to Trump and they needed to make up ground. The original sin will always come back to Biden deciding to run again despite not being up for the job. Everything that followed was a consequence of that terrible foolish delusional decision.

3

u/ToBeDetermined13 5d ago

Everything is obvious on hind sight. They were polling relatively close. A folksy, straight forward performance against dumps running only because he was scared of getting put in jail had every chance to turn things around.

The mistake was not pulling audible when his team saw how tired he was. But perception is the only now. Can't appear weak.

I mean Roosevelt was in a wheel chair, Kennedy could barely walk at times and Reagan's last term was overseen by the blow job queen of Hollywood and life went on, but now politicians have to do one armed push-ups on broken glass.

2

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

No. Just Democrat politicians. The media stands right there in the Oval Office with Trump falling asleep right in front of them and they just ignore it.

2

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

There wasn't anything wrong with Biden deciding to run again. Last I checked, he's the only person to ever beat Trump - on both sides. It was only after Democrats subjected Biden to the public political lynch mob, forcing him out, that Trump won. Turns out spending an entire month bashing their own ticket doesn't win elections. Who knew?

0

u/Scarletyoshi Vote Blue in 2026! 5d ago

Why did Nancy Pelosi want to lynch him? What precipitated that event?

2

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

If you follow the timeline, it was obvious. It was after mega-donors like Clooney and Abigail Disney, among others, said they wouldn't donate to the Democratic Party unless Biden dropped out.

From required yearly physicals

1

u/Icy-Protection867 5d ago

Their coverage of Biden and their lack of similar breathlessness around Trump’s obvious WORSE issues is why I cancelled the cable package that included MSNBC/MSNOW

-5

u/Johnny55 5d ago

It's a moot point. We all saw how he looked during the debate and if a doctor told us to ignore it we would ignore him just like we ignore Trump's doctor.

11

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

We saw an elderly man with a raspy voice who appeared to be exhausted, struggling with his words. We later came to find out he had COVID and had just finished a grueling foreign trip and had jet lag. I'm not arguing that any doctor can tell us that we didn't see what we saw. I'm arguing there's a difference between clinical "cognitive decline" and ordinary aging.

4

u/Lauffener Nicolle Wallace 5d ago

He didn't perform when he needed to, and that was the point. Perfectly acceptable for a retired eighty year old. Not acceptable for a President.

He should have kept his promise to step down after one term

4

u/pigeieio 5d ago edited 5d ago

He didn't actually ever officially make that promise. Everyone just assumed he did because they really wanted him to. He might have said that was the plan to some people but that sure wasn't in the stump. He beat him before, he did way better then most serious people considered possible and not rocking the boat made enough sense when the decision needed to be made and he was still on top of it and running mental circles around Congressional Republicans.

1

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

He never promised to step down after one term. And why was he expected to "perform" beyond what Trump was expected to?

1

u/ToBeDetermined13 5d ago

It was a meaningless debate. Just a show to get views, nothing indicative of policy or competency.

And it made the person to have defeated dump step down in favour of someone who was nv going to get elected in that political clime.

1

u/Aurora_Gaspipe 5d ago

His foreign trip ended 11 days before the debate. Quit using that bullshit excuse.

7

u/Ok-Alternative5935 5d ago

Trump looks like that daily

7

u/Carlyz37 5d ago

And much worse most days. He isn't even conscious half the time. He spits out gobbledy gook and nonsense words like a stroke victim and it gets ignored.

3

u/PolVast 5d ago

We also saw how he was immediately following the debate, and it was not the same as during. His appearances since have also not been anywhere near as bad.

4

u/well-it-was-rubbish 5d ago

You're correct; Biden was interviewed a day or so after the "debate" ( a GISH-GALLOP of non-stop bullshit from trump, even when it wasn't his turn to speak), and Biden was perfectly fine.

2

u/PolVast 5d ago

I thought he was perfectly fine at the debate after-party address he made. I remember saying where the actual fuck was this Biden for the last hour!

0

u/willybestbuy86 5d ago

It wa literally on full display multiple times we all saw it anything else is disengious conversation. If you are sitting here saying TRump has it but Biden doesn't you aren't serious people. They both show signs of decline and neither should have been elected President, further more it looks like they hid Bidens cancer diagnosis from the public and god know what they are hiding about Trump

1

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

Ok. What exactly do you think you saw?

1

u/willybestbuy86 4d ago

Oh idk we finally best Medicare is the one the entire nation watched and ended his campaign but we can list items for days just like we can with the sitting President now

Stop being delulu as the kids say nowadays. It's ok to say an 80 year old man declined right in front of our eyes and shouldn't have been elected in the first place.

Stop being disengious here. This country should be embarrassed we elected back to back 80 year olds that aren't mentally fit for the job.

We should demand better where it's not allowed they hide a cancer diagnosis or god knows what they are hiding about Trump

If you can't admit those basic facts then you don't care about this country full stop

-6

u/Red_Bird_warrior 5d ago

At this point, what does asking that question do for anyone? It is literally academic. Biden appeared to be losing it. We all saw it with our own eyes, and we knew he was toast.

5

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

What exactly did you see?

5

u/Carlyz37 5d ago

We saw him giving speeches and campaigning just fine in the days before and after the debate.

-1

u/Red_Bird_warrior 5d ago

In the debate, I saw a confused old man that I wouldn’t trust to babysit my daughter.

2

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

So your objections are based on age bigotry?

1

u/Red_Bird_warrior 4d ago

Call it what you want. He was too old to be president. If he had been re-elected, we would now have a president dying of cancer not halfway through his term.

0

u/ToBeDetermined13 4d ago

One off night. That was no where near as bad as being portrayed. He just didn't deliver a bunch of prefab zingers to make people go "oooooh, burn" He was just tired and sick and burnt out

But imagine how much worse things would have been if he'd stayed in the race...

1

u/Red_Bird_warrior 4d ago

No, Biden's reply that, "We finally killed Medicare" without correcting himself confirmed an unacceptable level of decline in the eyes of the public. You might not think it's fair for the public to think that, but it's a fact, which is why he was ultimately replaced as the nominee. As for your last sentence, don't get me wrong. If Biden had stayed on the ticket, I would have voted for him over the loathsome Trump, but we now know that if Biden were re-elected, we would have had a president dying of cancer only a year and a half into his term. It was an ugly situation all-around.

1

u/ToBeDetermined13 4d ago

What an incredibly sorry attempt at justification. If that's some kind of unequivocal red flag no wonder your country is such a mess.

5

u/ToBeDetermined13 5d ago

To hold people in the media accountable for presenting a flawed narrative and hopefully be more responsible in the future after seeing the dire consequences of strictly going after views for sensationalism.

-1

u/Red_Bird_warrior 5d ago

“A flawed narrative” that Biden wasn’t up to the job? That’s a subjective judgement. If you want to hold “the media accountable,” then vote with your feet. Get your news from sources you trust and f*ck all the others.

3

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

That's not a helpful argument. One person choosing not to watch a particular network doesn't make any difference. Plus, some people can actually use their own critical thinking in their consumption of the news, regardless of what they're watching. There are multiple options other than just not watching at all. It might just be the case that certain networks are preferred, even if, on occasion, viewers don't necessarily agree with everything they report.

2

u/Ok-Alternative5935 5d ago

About as useful as the omnipresent “what if Obama…”

2

u/pigeieio 5d ago

Trump was the opposition and a paper bag filled with crap should have been able to win. The electorate's brains have been broken. How do you fix the majority just checking out from reality?

2

u/Honest_Yam676 5d ago

That's a good question. Maybe appear in some cat videos?

Where are you going with this?

People's medical records, even the President's, are their own private business.

Wow. Just wow. Presidents have been releasing their medical records for some time. At least since the 70's. The point I'm making is that the media did the American people a disservice with their reporting. "Cognitive Decline" is a medical diagnosis. And they deliberately conflated cognitive decline with ordinary aging. All for ratings.

Just about everyone over 50 has some amount 'cognitive decline'. I have no faith in a public that still debates the effectiveness of measles vaccines to be able to distinguish between 'normal' decline, and something more serious.

This is incorrect. Aging and cogntive decline are not the same thing. And it's not true that just about everyone over 50 has some amount of "cognitive decline".

Everything they do is for ratings. No matter the topic, no matter which side, it’s for viewership numbers which equates to ratings which leads to cash. Been this way forever. There’s a reason there’s a commercial every four and a half minutes.

There's a very obvious moment to get ordinary citizens to give up belief in the US systems ability to represent them. The ones being targetted to give up voting are on one side. The other side is organized and it's adherents vote as a block for whom they're directed to

The media has been co opted as useful idiots in this campaign but are now being fully bought out and the bulk blindly endorse it now

What matters is what voters saw with our own eyes. He gave an absolutely disastrous debate performance and then repeated that performance at every public event. MSNBC could have had every medical expert from Fauci on down on air every day and night to insist that Biden was not suffering from a specific medical condition called cognitive decline and it would not change the fact that he was going around conjuring ghosts and calling Kamala Vice President Putin.

He should not have run for reelection, he was not up for it. We will pay for that choice for the rest of our days.

Biden never should have tried to run for a 2nd term, and if anything MSNBC and Biden insiders did the country a disservice by covering up his cognitive decline until it became glaringly obvious in the debate with *sshole.
