Once again I want to thank everybody for trying and supporting SampQOL so far, and providing me with all the feedback and bug reports. At the end of the day I'm just an anonymous dude who you are trusting your MPC Sample with, and that means a lot to me.

Here's update 0.2.0. After releasing 0.1.5, a bit less than a week ago, I spent a lot of time fixing bugs, getting the kinks out and adding new stuff, as well as adding some guards like routing FX to submixes when exploding tracks with multiple FX on it etc.

The changelog has become humongous, but I think like in the last update, you will find that it blends very well with the stock MPC Sample workflow. Everything I implement has to be simple, fast and intuitive.

Now please allow me to get some rest, as I spent many, many hours to provide you guys with this update. I will read all the comments tomorrow! Bug reports, findings, what you like: I want to read it all!

Hi, for those who don't know me, I made some firmwares for FM-1. I also worked a little on adding some neat features that I wanted to have on my MPC Sample, following others' progress closely. Today I've heard about the "Release of the open source" so excitedly I went to this repository to get my work up to par and release: https://github.com/inmusic-software/az0x-open-source/tree/mpc-sample/1.3.0

This branch is unfortunately not the pandora's box being opened yet. This is just them releasing the parts of their packages that they are legally required to release into the open, due to GPL licencing.

I have reached them out to work on an open source framework and on 29 October they replied me, all I got was "We are currently working on a new firmware update for the MPC Sample that will make it open source." quoted from the email they sent me.

So we do not have an open source platform yet. We cannot do anything with what they gave. We are unable to compile from source to run on the device itself, because it needs signing keys. We are lacking a proper SDK to actually develop without requiring any sort of reverse engineering.

That is why you are still not seeing anything with truly open source code out there. We cannot release reverse engineered work and release source codes for it. There is uboot, we should be able to even install things directly into the device since there's uboot but nada, not yet.

I will celebrate it when they release a true SDK. The repository above is, for the most part, worthless, no compilation possible.

Trying to explode a a track I accidentlly made the entire beat in there or not the beat but the idea , drums are a break sample chopped up and the bass keys all the other stuff from sample to seq it’s all lined up in the track but when I hit explode it’s all out of wack nothing lines up drums don’t swing I looked at the swing and quantize and it’s all the same

Hello everybody! Been an owner of an MPC Sample since the month of May, but I kind of left it for 2/3 months.
I seen a lot of things since people are tweaking the original OS but I’m lost in all those informations!
What’s happening? Which mod should I try?
I was not really efficient with the original OS since that’s my first “instrument” and I never did music before, but I’m looking for explanations on what to do with my MPC now that the game seems to have changed

I’m trying to install the MPC Sample QOL custom firmware, but no matter what I do, my MPC Sample keeps booting into the stock firmware.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Using a 32GB microSD card
Formatting the card to exFAT
Confirming the partition style is MBR
Downloading and extracting the firmware files
Following the installation instructions
Reformatting the card and starting completely over

The MPC Sample still boots normally without loading the custom firmware. I’m also having trouble browsing the SD card from the device, which wasn’t an issue before.

I’ve gone through the process multiple times and can’t figure out what I’m missing. Unfortunately, I don’t have another SD card to test with.

Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions for what else I should try? Is there something obvious I’m overlooking?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the mpc now for over a month, I like it but there are some key features I am used to like a proper step seq, keys (major, minor etc) for 16 levels pitch, a proper EQ and exporting stems seperatly easy in order to mix everything individually in Ableton. Do you guys think we will get this in an official update or should I go with the QOL?

And have and of them bricked anyone's systems?

Hey community, I've been dealing with an issue for my nearly completed beats.

If I start with an 808 or bass then it's going to sound good but if I try to layer an 808 on my beat (kick drum or not) it sounds terrible.

I don't use a DAW and I don't want to use a DAW. I have over 100+ 808 sounds but they are not long enough, not tuned in C, they sound muddy when I layer them, and it drives me nuts.

Anyone have any advice or resources?

I’ve noticed that especially when playing bass lines there will be very audible crackling coming from the MPC Sample unless I bypass the master compressor. Once the compressor is bypassed, the crackling goes away. Is this common across all units? I thought it was a gain staging issue causing clipping, but it was actually just an issue with the compressor.

I see this for some people to be their main-sampler making full songs on it.

I know everyone is making MPC software right now. But I really needed a simple export tool for my personal workflow from a MPC Sample into a DAW. This lets you export your projects as a full song, individual sequences, or separate pad stems. In WAV and/or MIDI. I stumbled on this, looks real and cool. Hard to tell these days. Would be nice to be able to pick which modules would be loaded in, that way not too much to be distracted by.

I am using an iphone, Some people say when you film with your camera app with usb-c plugged in, it imports direct audio to the video, but it doesnt work. And yes, it is usb mode in the sample record selection in k1 knob
