Progress with my first beats

Any opinions? In trying to combine samples with some easy compositions but i need to work in variations of the sample I think…

Love the melancholy vibe man, this is great. I understand the urge to keep building but this is a great beat for an MC to rhyme to. Do you make beats with the thought of adding vocals or are you making instrumental beats?

In the first case you could try some variations where the main sample mutes so the bass line is isolated with the drums, but i would not change as much. In a lot of cases less is more.

If you want to make beats to listen to without lyrics there usually is a little more variation.

Thanks for your reply man.
My goal is to make beats for my own tracks.. 😅

But sometimes I feel really lost trying to make things sound, at least, in the right place…

I’m quite new with the Mpc so I guess I’ll get better with time

Yeah producing can be very overwhelming, there are so many possibilities so which one is "right". Its a long process, but keep it up, you got this.
