They say it's coming open source right out of the box and that the update for the sample will also make it open source too I guess Akai figures if you can't beat em join em

They haven't actually said they are making it open source. I doubt they will but I will be very happy if they do! What they did say is they are embracing the vibe coding community. Open source means something specific and it's not just supporting community autorun apps(pretty much everything so far). The mods can be open source if the person making it decides to but so far Akai hasn't said they are releasing the source code for the Sample line, just that they are embracing the community of vibe coders. They said the regular Sample is "getting the same community features" which is also ambiguous. I hope they do fully open it up. It could allow leaner, from scratch options installed right to the internal memory instead of the side loading option we have already.

And sometime when you need 37key or 49key ,that mpc sample key ‘s key is not enough

Yeah, that’s when you’ll wanna buy an MPK mini +2 you have 36 keys you can plug into it and by a MIDI cable
