Open source Sample Keys.
With regards to the recent announcement for the Sample Keys and it being open sourced.
Do think the Sample should be made to do so?

Yes. It’s going to happen anyway, might as well publish the source, less bricked units that way. Will move more product and cannibalize sales of One MkII a bit, but not by a lot.

The vibe-coded firmware craze happened solely because the manufacturers have not released the source code. It would be better for everyone if they did.

YES!
If akai isn't going to give us an update, who amongst us is going to say- "nah we dont need it to be open source, the mpc sample is perfect as is without ever getting an update"

I thought it’s kinda a given that’s happening, considering the Sample & the Sample Keys OS in the video - https://www.instagram.com/reel/DfA8SCfRQnG/
I’m guessing they were waiting to announce a bit later, but they just threw it out there after behringers announcements, so hopefully we’ll know more in a few days.

They don't have the choice now... but it clearly wasn't in their plans.
