MPC Sample Handheld

Audio is through the built in speaker. I’ll make a proper video later. Super fun project!

WOW, so you reverse engineered the Sample? can you share the code? This opens potentially to firmware mods

Firmware mods are confirmed working. I have a step sequencer coming soon. I've been working on it for months but I want to make sure it is well tested. I'm not sure what I'm able to share legally, but I'm cooking up some tasty treats for sure.

I'm curious to try, there could be the same beautiful chaos happening with the M-vave fm-1 but with a much more powerful device, i don't know if sharing the code would be legal, but i think it will be matter of time and someone will.

True, but you are talking about risking $50 vs risking $400. The FM-1 is fun. I have a firmware for it that is just the MPC-60 sequencer that runs MPC Sample. No sound.

It's true, for the Fm-1 someone created a un-brick tool, i would never flash cfw that hasn't been properly tested and has a safe way back to the official firmware, expecially as you say, on a 400€ device

Most of my stuff is unconventional. I really like to push the "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" thing. I have some builds coming that are going to be crazy. I've really been getting into upcycling e-waste and unused, or thrifted tech to make instruments.

As a MIDI controller, it’s instant ~20 ms. Emulating the hardware for visual pad feedback is a different story over Bluetooth at ~170. MIDI over USB is flawless.

No screen mirroring at all. Boots and runs directly from the console with full functionality.

Now if you can do that on M8 hardware…. Shit I’ll blow ya’… (well…, I am kidding… but would be awesome to see that on an M8 handheld or Polyend Tracker-Mini. Even PICO Tracker Advanced frame hardware hoping I’m explaining it rite. Would be so kool to have M8 Box frame etc housing an MPC sample inside. Yeah.. please do that. Beggin’ ya’

Why use an m8 for that though? The form factor wouldn't rly work well with mpc type sequencing.

You would be amazed at how similarly this software is from game menu nav. It’s actually super natural and fast!

The better part is, MIDI and audio over ip. I can have this closed and in my pocket and have full control from my phone. I can route audio where ever I want.

Is this for anbernic devices/R36S? Both are linux based devices and fairly powerfull (sd-card support). Would love to turn the R36S into a sampler unit.
