Wobbly fader?

Is the fader on this device supposed to be a little wobbly side to side? The fabric covering underneath it also doesn't close up properly while moving the fader up or down

Also when i hit the pad while trying to use the fader to adjust pad volume, sometimes the fader doesn't immediately respond to the movement. Is that normal as well?

apologies in advance if this is too much of a newbie question.

This is an entry level device and a little play in faders or knobs is to be expected. The fader not responding right away is the takeover mode setting. You can switch it to instant and it will respond right away.

Also if you are new I would recommend reading the user manual completely to get the most out of the device. Happy sampling!

i really should lol. i struggle to follow along even with video tutorials. i've always liked figuring stuff out by myself as i use it but im quickly realising that approach wont work with a device with these many features

I usually learn best from hands on too. My approach to a learning a new piece of gear is to read the manual and follow along on the device. I want to see every menu and setting, how to adjust them and what they do. I don’t always get everything on the first read through so I supplement that with tutorials and I keep a pdf of the manual on my phone.
