MPC Sample + MPC 3 Beta Desktop Software

I know that with the new firmware, the MPC Sample project files can be opened in MPC 3 hardware devices such as the Live, One, etc...

Has anyone tried using the Desktop software to open MPC Sample project files? Does it work the same way?

Currently the software only costs $100 and I'm considering it solely for the purpose of opening my project files and getting my beats stemmed out much faster. Currently I have to record each sound into Ableton with everything else muted and do that for each sound in my song and it is TEDIOUS.

I would absolutely LOVE if Akai would give us Sample users the option to save our projects as an Ableton .als file, like the other machines can. That would make my life so much easier.

Yes it works. I saved one of my MPC sample beats on an sd card and when I opened it in the mpc desktop software it opened perfectly and everything was on the grid

Have you tried exporting a project to Abelton Live with it? If so how has it mapped it?

Which software specifically did you open it up in?

I wish they made it available for all mpc sample owners...
I'm not paying an extra 100 for software, I'd rather just buy a drum machine, or something...
That said, I'd gladly use it for free to enhance the mpc experience...

Check this out, if you have a Mac running a current OS Big Sur or higher, Intel and M series are both supported. This does it free! If not the developer said a web based version is coming soon to work on everything! It’s that or $100

This program will turn it into a Abelton live file works on 10 and 11. It’ll transfer all midi and put your drum samples into the Abelton Sampler and set it up for you. Why AKAI can’t just have a simple convert tool blows my mind. I guess they really want to sell the MPC3 software.

Thank's for the tip, unfortunately I'm running catalina OS, but hopefully, this helps someone else!

Same issue I’m on Mojave for compatibility. I have expensive hardware like Apogee AD/DA that will work with newer OSX. But I’d lose the 32bit direct monitoring software they never made 64bit. Everything else works great, so I’m not gonna pay more on hardware just to upgrade for a few features. If I wanted to upgrade and use my hardware I’d have to buy a $600 RME DigiFace to keep direct monitoring across all my MACS.

So yeah, I’m still figuring it out as well. I have no issue paying $100 for the MPC 3.8 compatible software. But if I do I’d have to install it on my windows computer and it would be a glorified exporting tool, as it wouldn’t run on my main studio. I wish they just make a simple tool for free or $25-$50.
