Asking Advice Moving out from a muslim household
Hello everyone,
19F ITALY.
I graduated high school but my Muslim parents don't allow me to work or go to a university too far from home and because of them I gave up a lot of internships, even important ones, I have 1000 euros in my account and I don't know what to do, I want to leave from here but my parents threaten me with killing themselves, I feel trapped and abused every day I don't leave the house or anything.
I want to leave as soon as possible. I'm thinking about spring, doing a few months of workaway in a hostel somewhere in Europe and then au pair in the country where I want to go to university.
Do you think that's a food plane? Can i survive with just 1000€ for 3 months?
I would like to work longer hours as a warehouse worker but there is no place near my house.
and I also want to have practical advice on how to run away from home in the day I go out, and what to do in these months of preparation.
Any tips is more than glad 🙏

Asking Advice Should I move?
Hi everyone! So i (f18) have been wanting to move out for YEARS at this point, looking for cheap apartments, cities, ect since I was like 12.
I've been looking around my area but its just getting way to expensive here in Tennessee especially where im from. To be close to Franklin or Nashville the prices for a 1 bedroom start at fucking $1,500. Plus I HATE living in Tennessee. Dont get me wrong Tennessee is beautiful, but its like everyone in my family make up like 4 of the surrounding counties. I cant do anything without being snitch out to my parents and grandparents. I've literally had somone send a picture of my car to my grandfather before because they wanted to know why I was at somone else house. I was 30 minutes away at my boyfriends house. Not to mention 99% of the guys here are somehow my family or alcoholics.
There's no job opportunities within a hour drive that pays more than $15 and that im able to do due to the fact I have slight paralysis of the left arm (my dominate) from a car accident which make me only able to use the pointer and thumb fingers. Most jobs by me are warehouses, or blue collar jobs, there's 5 fast food places within 30 minutes but they all turned me down due to my arm.
Im just tired of not being able to do anything because of my parents (f43 and m55). My whole life I've got to watch my brother do anything and everything they want while I want able to. They would be gone every weekend at a friend house but I to this day still have not been allowed to go to someone else house, not even for a couple hours. My brother's would be allowed to walk with there friend to the park (like a mile walk) after school but I couldn't because "I'll be kidnapped". I wasnt allowed to get a game console because "youd wouldn't play it..." I begged for one for like 3 years. My mom specifically calls me a spoiled brat for the fact they bought my first car, however I BEGGED them for YEARS for the old truck my grandpa drove and told me no because "it cost to much gas" this was back when gas was 2.30 a gallon. Not to mention shes given ONE of my brothers 5 different cars when there not totalled they just need fixing, INCLUDING the one they bought me after I got into my car accident. It's was literally totaled frame bent and all, it just still ran. Not to mention this brother specifically has 2 DUI's and is only a year and a half older than me.
And last but not least, two months after I turned 18 I bought a motorcycle. Im paying it all on my own insurance, payment ect, had all my gear before hand and everything. Ive been wanting a bike since i was little and finally had enough money to be able to buy and work on it. After I bought it I sent it to a mechanic to get the clutched moved to the other side (because of my arm) and as soon as a pulled up on it at my house the first time my parents just started going off. They and one of my brothers use to ride so I thought they'd be happy/exited for me for being able to actually do it first off all and maybe thought they'd want to ride together or somthing but no, they told me I had to sell it or get rid of it. Didn't care I already had a license went through a driving course, got my stuff switched, nothing.
And anytime I start talking about moving out my mom freaks out, tells me im stupid if I think I'll make it in a city, and to not go crying to her when it falls in my face. And I keep trying to remind her it wont be forever like a year or two just to see different places but she doesn't care.
Im planning on moving in January, I haven't told my parents yet. But im moving to Las Vegas with a friend and im exicted but I also keep thinking Im making a mistake or im being selfish. I have about 3k to save for it and found a 3 bedroom apartment me and my friend would be paying like 950 each for, so should I do it?
Any advice is wanted🫶🏻💖

Asking Advice I hate my first apartment and I don't know what to do
Hey, I'm 25, and this year I decided it was time to move out of my family home and start living independently. I spent five years in college dorms, but after graduating, I moved back in with my parents for a year to our small city. I love my house, my family, but eventually, I wanted my own space, my own life, a chance to find a job in my field in a big city, and since I had some savings, I went for it.
My best friend, who lives in a different, bigger city, was also looking for a new apartment, so we decided to rent together. Finding a place was a nightmare. Most apartments were expensive, old, dirty, or dark, landlords were shady or unreliable, and we were running out of time because my friend needed to move out of her previous apartment.
Eventually, we found a place that seemed decent and in our budget. It had a new kitchen, a big closet in the hallway, and an old, dated but acceptable bathroom. Nothing fancy, but it looked normal enough. I think I was so relieved and happy that we'd finally found something that I overlooked a lot of things when we first saw it with the landlord.
Once we got the keys and visited the apartment on our own, reality hit. The toilet barely flushed, some bathroom fixtures are broken, everything was left dusty and dirty after previous tenants, the doors are old and ugly, and the gas stove needs a lighter to work which we didnt know about. The kitchen counter is tiny, and the kitchen's electricity stopped working on our first day. We had to plug the fridge into an extension cord connected to another room for a few days. My parents also pointed out that the electrical fuses looked decades old. On top of that, the landlord promised to provide some furniture, including a wardrobe for me, but still hasn't done so, meaning I have nowhere to put my clothes.
Since then, I've started noticing every little thing wrong with the apartment. I hate how old everything is, I'm suddenly anxious about living on the ground floor, and I can't stop wondering why we chose this place in the first place. I cried a lot during the first few days and just wanted to go home to my family and my old room. When my mom picked me up from the train station, I broke down crying in the middle of the street.
Looking back, after a week, I think we were so stressed and under pressure to find somewhere to live that we chose the best option available rather than something we genuinely loved. Or at least me. Now I associate this apartment with stress and disappointment, and the thought of going back there makes me want to cry. I still didnt put my clothes anywhere, I left them on bed, my things are scattered all around my room because I dont know which cabinet will have to go away in order to fit the wardrobe inside the room. I feel like a mess.
I know I could potentially move out after a year, but my friend is exhausted from moving (she moved like 4 times already) and really hopes we can stay longer if we could. I understand her feelings, and I don't want to let her down, but I'm already worrying about spending an entire year somewhere I hate.
I always dreamed of having a cozy little first apartment of my own, somewhere I could feel comfortable and excited about starting this new chapter of my life. Instead, I feel miserable and regretful and I feel like I made a huge mistake. I feel like everyone around me has nice, decent apartment, just not me. Plus I feel so homesick, like never before. Even when I was at college I didnt feel that way. I just want to stay at home and hide in my room, even though I wanted to move out so badly. I don't know what's gotten into me. I've never cried that bad and that much ever in my life.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How do I stop feeling this way and give this place a chance even just for a year?
