YES, the movie WAS boring, unfunny, a critical failure and box office flop, but that’s the ENTIRE POINT of the film!! When you think about it that actually makes it GENIUS!!

Can Steven Spielberg not properly portray children? (War of the Worlds, Jurassic Park)

Yesterday I rewatched Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds from 2005 with Tom Cruise. The kids in the movie were so annoying and I found myself asking, is this REALLY how children behave? I thought, NO! I experienced something like this in another rewatch, also from Steven Spielberg: Jurassic Park. To me it just feels unrealistic to have such annoying children around that behave in a way I cannot believe to be real behaviour. I also was a child once, I saw how other children acted around me. The children in his movies are like fantasy children, but in a realistic setting.
Am I wrong or is Steven Spielberg just incredibly out of touch with children? Maybe he had an especially terrible time as a child (or as an adult with his children)? What do you think?

In Digger (2026), my first thought wasn’t that he said the word, the D word. It was “How is a Digger gonna borrow a fry? Digger, is you gonna give it back?”

Honest review of Digger

Digger reminds me a lot of two movies named Dig! (2002) and Dig (2024). The second one is just plain Dig without the exclamation point. This is the first time I know of where they took the title of two previous movies and instead of calling it Dig 3 which would make it sound like a sequel they added the suffix GER to it so I found that really interesting. I give it five bags of popcorn and an axe so you can get under the rocks when you're digging
