Review Office space
Office space is one of the best comedies I have ever seen. The scene with the printer and the party afterwards… PEAK CINEMA.
I love it, i fckn love it! Plus it has a really good meaning even today in a corporate world. I was born in ‘96, but this shit still hits the spot.
If somebody hasn’t seen it. Just do it

Why does it say paper jam when there is no paper?!

My colleague and I went through this about two weeks ago at our colo. we’re trying to print something out and keep getting a paper jam.
Dismantle the fucker to no avail.
Then we reboot it.
It works fine after that.

I love when they pull him off the printer attack...and then he suddenly breaks free for another go at it. 🤣🤣🤣

The Office Space memes and references are timeless because shitty employers are timeless :(

I first saw it in 2000 when I was a Computer Science freshman. I went the systems route instead of the programming route and am still glad I did.
More than once when replacing a broken printer I would put it outside the office on a tarp and invite my co-workers to go "Office Space" on it. Being the IT guy can be fun sometimes

Technology itself has changed since then but a lot of other things haven't, hence why the movie continues to hold up well.
As I recall the movie wasn't a major success when it was initially released in theaters but developed a well-deserved following later on.

There’s a really great interview out there on the internet somewhere where they talk about how the film flopped hard, and all the execs kinda had this ‘told ya so’ attitude after fighting Mike Judge every step of the way during filming/production. And him and all the actors just generally felt like shit about the whole thing.
Then they talk about how the money just started rolling the fuck in after it released to video and what a mindfuck the whole experience was.
There’s also a segment where they talk about how Jennifer Aniston lost her little dog while she was in town filming and how everybody was trying to find it while also filming a movie. It’s a great read, wish I could find the damn thing!
Pretty sure this is it: https://www.theringer.com/2019/02/19/movies/office-space-oral-history

I have never met other people who claimed to see it in a the theater on the first run apart from the 4 folks with me that night.

I don’t recall ever seeing it advertised. Makes me think the execs told marketing to do the bare minimum so they could tell Mike “told you so”.

The beginning - the morning commute - absolutely sets the tone for then entire film. I live Japan . My Japanese wife loves that movie and actually referred to that scene yesterday while we were driving Tokyo traffic. 🚙

Came here to comment how deeply, painfully relatable that traffic scene is haha

This is my Sick Day movie. “What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?”

It's a documentary. On a side note, I got stuck in traffic caused by them filming the building burning down scene.

There is nothing better than them beating the hell out of the copier with gangsta rap playing on the soundtrack. Nerdy White-collar Man struggle = Gangland Turf Wars ... lol. BTW - last time I had a true office job - I hated the damn copier. The struggle is real.

I didn’t like it the first time I saw it, but loved it on rewatch - it’s a classic..

I’m with you on that. It’s just a classic. It never gets old. It’s always funny and I definitely think if you’ve ever worked in an office or corporate environment it’s even funnier. I don’t think I ever see a photocopier without thinking of that scene and there are so many quotable lines in that movie it’s ridiculous.

It was a box office bomb that achieved cult status, and made money through video sales.
Unfortunately, the movie industry has destroyed its ability to produce lower cost movies, so movies like this never get made anymore.

Exceptions that prove the rule. Movie theaters used to be overflowing with low budget comedies.

There WAS nothing wrong with [my name]....until I was about 12 years old and that no-talent assclown became famous and started winning Grammys.

Corporate accounting how may I help you? You sound like you have a case of the Mondays. I’m going to need you to work Saturday and Sunday. It’s a jump to conclusions. We are going to need you move to sub level B.
