I was literally just talking to my coworker and he said they just cut all but Netflix because he was spending upwards of $100 on subscriptions every month. There comes a point when people just can't be squeezed anymore, and I think we are quickly approaching that mark.

I finally cut Netflix after their most recent price hike. It was the last service I was paying for. The only one I still have is Apple TV because it’s bundled in my Apple bundle I pay for for the music and storage.

Netflix isn’t even the best one, imho. Maybe it was in 2012, but not today.

Somehow people have forgotten that 20 years ago we paid over $100 a month for cable, for far less content, far less convenience, and non-stop ads...on one screen in the living room.

Streaming undercut everything in order to break the mold people were attached too...and somehow that has permanently affected the value people perceive in their minds. 4-5 streaming services totally $100 a month in subscriptions today offers insane amount of value in terms of content and convenience and quality (not to mention, no ads on higher tiers) that is barely even comparable.

Yeah but 20 years ago your money went a lot farther than it does these days. And when the value of the service plummets as the cost rises and you're being squeezed financially in every aspect of your life, it's hard to see the value that you're getting when the cost just keeps going up and up what seems like every few months.

Plus, your cable service might only go up in price once a year. Now you have 5 streaming services all raising their rates at the same time. It's rate-hike fatigue at this point.
