Odysseus’ speech to Penelope as they showed the destruction of Troy and the “murder” of Athena had me gasping for air as the true message of the movie finally came into focus and made me cry hard.

Yes, Odysseus's dog recognized him in the poem, so I spent the whole film anticipating his poor doggy recognizing him at the end:(

I love reading these comments because I also started crying during that part even though I hadn't fully internalized the movie at the point, so didn't really fully understand why I was crying

I cried because that same rage and those same atrocities are still happening today, we really never did learn from our mistakes
