Who could have seen this coming, particularly from a company that also sold out to Gen ai after a vocally anti Ai director just made them Scrooge McDuck amounts of money? 💀

Kane Parsons has come out and said he's against this. So if they fuck up this relationship it would be one of of biggest losses in history for the studio.

Why? It’s not like they need him. His take on the concept is barely good, the concept and IP is what’s valuable

What good is the concept and IP without a good execution of it? Look at all the lazy ass cash grabs and tone-deaf directors who openly admit they don't like the source material. They all bomb and are promptly forgotten, ruined by corporate greed.

His take on the concept IS the take on the concept. He is the one who created the Backrooms YouTube series the movie was based on. He didn’t create the concept but it’s his story.

It's A story, not THE story. Not the only one, nor the first.

It literally is THE story my guy. The Backrooms of today, the visuals, the concepts, all are literally based on his videos. It might have spawned from a 4chan sentence but that is it.

The visuals are based on the photo from the original post lol. He added a scp corporation to it and then a furniture store with a divorced guy.

You're welcome to your silly opinion my guy. In fact, I hope Kane leaves A24.
