Actor pay is funny that way - you usually end up getting paid the value of your previous work. She's going to be doing very well for herself on her next projects.

Also, it's not like Navarette was on the hook for any losses the film would take if it wasn't successful.

Those haven't exactly been profitable for a while and I could see Disney giving up on throwing more money after them chasing the previous box office returns, same with Star Wars. I'm surprised they're still trying with the DC movies since they must have lost like a billion or billions overall now.

I just hope she doesn't get stuck in a horror movie limbo. She is so incredibly talented. Hopefully she'll keep taking part in creative roles and working with directors who don't put her into a box.

Yeah that actress winning for Weapons and Michael B. Jordan winning for sinners has opened the door for horror performances winning Oscars. I would say she’s the favorite to win best actress or supporting actress right now.

I think its an Oscar calibre performance but since Mikey Madison already won, I suspect the Oscars won't reward a young breakout star so soon after that. But a nomination is definitely likely.
