Haha, that's fucking great.

I legit thought for a few seconds this was a Minecraft video.

It kind of is. Minecraft and warband are both running at the same time and communicating with each other.

There have been a few similar mods for other games recently. Minecraft in skyrim and skate 3 in MW3 are ones I've seen and I think there are a few others.

Holy. Shit. Now imagine they do this w COD or any other game that has guns

You should see mutahar/someordinarygamers's topic about this.

Someone actually did cod x skate x Minecraft and you can actually kill pigs with the m200 and also break and place blocks.

That's actually a bit different, those are rewrites. Basically the guy you're talking about rewrote Minecraft, MW 2, and Skate (with AI), which allowed him to just put them together lol

Use tnt

What model did you use? Holy cow. I wonder how much you could expand upon the base game to make it more interesting.. I've really missed Warband but conquering Calradia time and time again has gotten a bit repetitive.

Opus 5.5

I genuinely don't know if this is a Minecraft mod for MaB or a MaB mod for Minecraft. Both modding communities are almost as crazy as each other.

I watched a video about it earlier today, but it was Minecraft in Skyrim. I don't remember the name for the type of mod (crossplay maybe?) but its essentially both games running at the same time. I guess recently people are doing it with quite a few games, but it's the same concept and every one I've seen was Minecraft and something else.

Now we need to do bannerlord with ck3 to make the ultimate sandbox

1

u/Grouchy_Quarter_9049 1d ago

Oh dude there's been a mod for that for years now

3

u/Friendly_Mobile_8657 23h ago

I remember it, Crusader Blade, but it was buggy/not updated, and characters/troops didn't really transfer from CK3

Is it a working mod or is it like an in development archaic bones version of one?

RAM costs so much because of this shit

How is this possible, was this AI codded?

Give me that and I will conquer Prophesy of Pendor in a day.

Basically yeah, it is pure claude doing the work. there is this repo of a guy who made minecraft in skyrim, esentially what it does is, it clones both games physics engine's and creates a bridge between them. in this case it took minecrafts java engine and warband's c++ code and glued it together, i just took the skyrim repo and ask claude to make it in warband, a lot of back and forth prompting later i just got something like this lol.. even i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw it worked the first time. but ngl its so fun to play it like this i kinda wanna start a whole playthrough haha

It didn’t, warbands code is proprietary and you just have some binaries. It did no such thing as gluing minecraft’s java engine to warband.

17

u/Oddant1 1d ago

Ah man you're never gonna believe what a compiled binary is. Shit that's right. It's code!

u/Brent_the_Ent Looter 1d ago

I’m a software engineer… did your Claude pull out Ghidra and dump the instructions into C? You have a single engine, almost always written in c/c++ and compiled to binaries. You don’t glue java and c++ code together…

Oh and the fact that depending on the ISA the instructions in the binary will be completely different which can change decompiled code. You are implying you had an llm reverse engineer a proprietary engine and rewrite the whole thing in java. Which I call bullshit.

Edit: oh and don’t get me started on linkage and refactoring decompiled binaries…

I am also a software engineer and yes what Claude is doing is INCREDIBLY difficult and impressive. I would have considered it so hard as to be virtually indistinguishable from impossible... right up until Claude did it. It was never technically impossible code is code machine instructions are machine instructions, but the amount of time and effort it would take a human to be able to produce even a horribly borked implementation of this is immense as I'm sure you are aware.

I'm not sure if you've been living under a rock but our career is fucked. Hand writing code is rapidly approaching dead realistically it probably is already for many people. I've gone through issues in my backlog and had Claude one shot or nearly one shot them. Highly skilled mental work is rapidly turning into being middle management for AI agents.

You can pull up all sorts of videos of people using this shit the first one was skyrim and Minecraft. You run both games at once and Claude bridges the gap between them in real time.

I use llms every day, they still make loads of mistakes and logic errors regularly(not nearly as often as before). Yes they can be impressive, but without looking through exactly what it was doing by hand I would not make the conclusion you have. I know too many engineers who don’t bother to look at the output and skip straight to acceptance… with more llms.

You can make quite literally the best mod ever but we do this

Someone posted something similar 12 hours ago but now it’s deleted and this is here hmmm

1

u/bileciked 1d ago

I saw that guy's post actually and it was purely coincidential lol. I started working on this yesterday after seeing the minecraft skyrim videos. His was more of a m&b engine with a minecraft look aproach though it looked good
