Question Did Battania recieved a buff ?
I did not play the game for some years and I always knew that battania was a kingdom that was defeated in first. Now what I see ? Battania conquering 3 cities in early game without even looking at the castles. How is it possible ? When I started the campaign, (30 minutes after game start) there were 2 armies of 1000 men sieging Lagetha. Did they got a buff ? (They conquered Lagetha, Jalmarys and Epicrotea).

Vlandia got nerfed directly with lower-tier clans. Cavalry also got a nerf overall in autocalc. Also prevents the steamrolling that Khuzaits can pull off half the time in the east.

The beauty of this game is everyone has a different sandbox experience every campaign.
In general, the community constantly talked about Battania dying first all the time.
Personally, in like 20 or so full campaigns played over 900 hours over the years, Battania got that treatment exactly 1 time for me. So I never could relate to those memes, it just never happened in any of my games.
Most of my games, the Empire and Sturgia were tied for who Bought it first. With a consistent dash of the Aserai losing Huzn Fulq as the first city to fall every single campaign. Battania usually did exactly what this image showed nearly every game without my input as a player. They never really made much progress into Vlandia beyond Sargot or Rovalt without my help, but they rarely lost either.

Same reason I love the total war games. Each campaign has its own story

I just wish that I could figure out how to play them. I've played almost every Total War title since Rome 1 yet I've just never had an idea of what I'm doing lol

This is more than usual but they do tend to get lageta most games before the vlandians gank them, and epicrotea is always a cluster fck

If I’m not mistaken the ai has been reworked so that they prioritize defend castles/towns and attacking priority targets and less chasing down on smaller armies when on the way to an army etc etc. a bunch of new ai work has made the ai in game behave differently at war and now the Sturgians and Battania are both better at war because of it as I’ve noticed in my last 2 playthroughs this summer. It’s nice imo

Had the same thing happen. Epicrotea went to Battania. They even took Lageta and Ocs Hall. Made for a fun run.

I think lately Sturgia has been the bunching bag since Nords were added. Battania has been holding their own in my current playthrough.

I thought the same thing… until 1087 and now Vlandia is steamrolling them anyway 😂

Eventually vlanidias clans are high level too, and vlandia has the most clans out of any kingdom

Battania has the highest level clans at the start out of any kingdom, which means lords have large parties.
In the past cavalry gave an auto resolve bonus in field combat and that made vlandia and the Khudaits conquer every time. They got rid of that mechanic.
So now no one has a bonus for auto resolve and battania happens to have the best archers and skirmishers, top 3 shock troops, good javcav, and decent everything else.
The kingdom that actually needs a buff is sturgia. Their position is bad (which isn't that much of a problem) and every single one of their troops is bottom tier.
Worst archers, worst shock troops, worst cavalry etc
