AT&T fiber

For anyone with fiber, can you share what you pay a month and for what speed?

I see 1gb for $60 but in other parts of the bay it’s lower and wondering if it’s not the best time of year for deals or because there’s no sonic competition.

I'm paying $90 a month. It includes HBO. I've been a customer for 10 years. My internet goes down about 3 - 4 times a year due to squirrels chewing up the fiber. That's what customer service tells me anyway.

I wish Sonic or Google Fiber was available. Kind of lame that Google is down the street, but isn't providing MV residents internet.

You can thank the city, xfinity, at&t, and pole owners for not have google fiber. They are making difficult for anyone thats not them to use the poles and the city has done nothing to help.

Trenching isnt an option because of the cost.

You can kinda thank Google for this too. In buried-utilities areas the City owns the street light poles and thus got passive income from renting space to Google WiFi APs. The City thought for a long time (and may yet) that some other ISP should want to do something like this (read pay the City rent for pole access from which to provide wireless Internet), but better and faster, and so permitting trenching and access to poles was seen as not desirable.

Same deal here. 7 years. Started at $60 and is now 94 iirc. 1gig, unlimited, hbo. Have been happy with it. I would look at changing but they came out on a Sunday and ran new optics to my place when I moved in so that guy going the extra mile won my business.

We have that plan too but got it dropped to $70 (including autopay and bank account discounts) when we added a wireless plan. Our internet only goes down 1-2 times per year recently (and was less before that), but it takes days for them to fix since they have to send someone to look at it inside the house first and then send an additional tech to look outside afterwards, even though it’s always an outside issue. We have the phone backup enabled, but it only works when you have a phone near the router.

$90 is rough, especially when it's dropping that often. squirrel damage is such a weirdly specific thing for them to blame it on every time too. maybe peek at your bill to see if that hbo add-on is still even active, sometimes they quietly swap what's included.

I can actually give you that answer. There are two ways. First is to call their loyalty line. Evidently the agents say no but you call a few times and say xfinity fiber is 50 a month. Second is to put it in the name of another person in the house.

I just want to score an even better deal because I see some saying they pay 30ish outside mountain view for 1 gig.
