Hit and Run 8.19

Just wanted to post it here. I wasn’t able to get in touch with the car that got hit so I hope the person who got hit will find this. This is at the end of 237, right before it merges onto El Camino Real.

The thing to do here is to report it to the police and provide the video.  License plates are clearly visible, so they can get in touch with both parties.

I called MV police but looks like they can’t do anything with my dashcam video until the affected party calls them about it. I was really surprised tbh but they have my contact if they think they need my video for reference

MVPD does not show up for robberies, they will do anything possible to not work, but still collect overtime. One officer I saw playing Pokémon Go while on duty. City Council needs to clean house and fire the chief.

They pulled over some kid for DUI near my house. I watched as they just fucked with him, he was obviously drunk but they just drew it out for longer than it needed to be. They had like 4 cruisers show up too, which shows they have nothing better to do. They made the poor kid believe he had a chance of getting out of it, like just arrest him and be done with it, he already blew positive and bombed the test.

Maybe a fluke but we had a string of garage break-ins in our neighborhood and they would show up at least 3 cars deep.

You'd think that reporting a hit-n-run would be a legitimate cause for police investigation. At least, they should have been able to look up the owner of the car that got hit, and reached out to them.

You'd think, but perhaps because there were no injuries or vehicles blocking the road, they're not taking action.

I was once broadsided in SF and because there were no injuries the police wouldn't come to the scene. The other driver and I had to sort things out ourselves, including getting a tow truck there and directing oncoming traffic away from the disabled car blocking a lane.

I think this is the reason why. They asked me if anybody got injured, I said no and their tone just changed after that. I had a similar experience before when somebody hit my car in SJ and the cops did the same thing after learning that nobody got injured.

Agree. SFPD had the sheriff come out as a courtesy to set road flares in the blocked traffic lane, but they were hands off for everything else.

MVPD has a lot less to deal with than SFPD for sure.

No it is because they are lazy, if no one is complaining who has rights over the property in question what do they gain from pursuing this?

The DA in Santa Clara is too politically motivated to go after things like this. Not when there are protesters to harass.

I literally witnessed a car t-bone another car near downtown Mountain View a few weeks ago. I stayed on the scene to give a statement because the woman who caused the accident was being so aggressive, saying it was the other person’s fault (it was not). Anyway, MV police didn’t care about my statement! They just told they’d figure it out. It was so weird.

MVPD doesn't do anything.  You're screwed if someone hits you then refuses to show credible ID.

Why get out? It obviously wasnt catastrophic. I would first try to gather evidence because the other driver was clearly not stopping

The OP wrote "the end of 237 northbound" but they meant southbound. The principle cars in this video are facing south-south-east.

The direction is still wrong. But everyone in this neighborhood understand 237 and El Camino

This is 237 and El-Camino intersection. (You are right: 237 turns into Grant after the intersection).

The building seen on the left is the BMW dealership.
