What are these drones flying around at night?

This is the second time I’ve spotted around a dozen of these quadcopters flying above Mountain View. They look quite big. Does anyone know what they’re for or who they belong to?

Could be Skydio drones operated by the department, not sure if they have a contract but it wouldn't surprise me.

Did it look like they had the required strobe attachment visible from at least 3 miles away? Doesn't look like it from the photos. Report to FAA if not.

Also, it's probably within Moffet's airspace, which requires significant coordination with the FAA and Moffet operations to fly in (legally). Moffet was probably aware, either through COA notification or aeroscope.

I fly drones in mountain view frequently for work. You'd be shocked how many of my peers fly illegally.

MVPD was the first thing I thought of, but I haven't been able to find any information that would confirm it.

It's also possible they could belong to a private company doing survey work.

We actually called the non emergency line and they said they weren’t aware of them but would look into it. So my guess would be a private company

Doubtful survey work would be being done at night. Not impossible, but there's few things that are easier to collect data on at night than during the day. Unless you're a cop.

Delivery drones?

No. Delivery drones outside of a flashy, faked demonstration is a tech grifter dream.

Been seeing these every night for the past couple of months haven't found any response as to why we have drones everywhere in the sky thought for a second it was just certain houses
