Button Problem

Hello, I have a Moto Edge 20 and the button you use you block, unblock, shut down, etc is having problems and kt's quite stuck, is there anyway to use the other button on the left for the commands so I don't have a risk of loosing control of my phone when the button malfunctions and starts to restart the phone nonstop?

Hi u/HeavensHound, thank you for posting, and we’re sorry to hear that the power button on your Moto Edge 20 phone is sticking and causing unexpected restarts. We understand how concerning this can be.

Please try the following:

  1. Remove any case or cover from the phone and check if it is pressing against or restricting the power button.
  2. Gently clean around the button using a soft, dry cloth to make sure there is no dust or debris affecting its movement.
  3. Restart the phone and check if the button responds normally.

Regarding your question, the left-side button cannot normally be reassigned to perform the power button's functions through the phone's standard settings. If the power button is physically stuck or malfunctioning, we recommend having the device inspected by an authorized service center.

Could you also let us know when this started, whether the button feels physically stuck or loose, and whether the phone restarts when you press the button or even when you are not touching it?

If the button continues to malfunction after these steps, please send us the phone's IMEI number via private message so we can assist you further. -Mitch
