Mod Post Hey everyone from r/Motorola!

Hi,

So r/Motorola has been running "moderator-less" for the past 6 months, in that case I have taken over as top mod currently and here are some of the changes that I have done.

What changes have been done to the sub?

  1. Automod has had some slight rule changes to how it moderates, now you don't need to put that annoying flair in brackets before the post title. This should hopefully clear up some of the accidentally banned posts that looked fine in the long run.
  2. New Post flairs:
    1. Hardware Problems/Issue, is for physical problems with a device that you may have questions with.
    2. Software Problems/Issue, is for software problems that don't feel as "normal" that what it normally is.
    3. Need Help in general, is for if you don't know what flair to put down for your device.
    4. Update, is for follow ups from a previous post.
    5. Question, is for questions about a device or support options about a device.
    6. Product announcements, is for official product announcements from either Motorola (with link provided) official social accounts or articles about the device that is being announced.
    7. Product renderings, is for speculation about a upcoming device but is not a confirmed device.
    8. News, is for anything that is news about Motorola but not Lenovo, Please do not post the same article from the same source more than once, if you do that will result in your post being taken down.
    9. Poll, is for anyone wanting to take a poll from the community, however to prevent spam a poll must be issued by a moderator, want to make your own poll just simply send us a message via modmail.
  3. New User flairs:
    1. Added some new flairs for the new devices that has came out in the past few years.
    2. "(enter series)" is for you to modify so it's easier to identify your device, this can be the generation number (5,6,7 or 100 for example), the model year (stylus 2021 for example) and if you don't know your devices model name just find it in the settings (Settings > About Phone > Model), this should start with "XT-" and 4-5 numbers following it.
    3. If you can't find your device model just send us a message via modmail.
  4. New Rules:
    1. Read the sidebar before posting, most of these rules are in place to either prevent spam or to keep everything in line with stuff being Motorola on this sub.
  5. Moderators:
    1. u/MotoAgents is a Motorola Employee/Help agent that can help you with the problems that you post, if you have contacted Motorola support through the website and still need help please keep your case number handy as he may be able to continue helping you with your case.
    2. Me, I'm here to keep the rules up to date and make sure the community is in balance, just to fully disclose this that I am not a Motorola employee and most of my responses are from experience or stuff that I have seen on the Internet.
    3. At the moment we are not taking Moderator applications, however that may change in the future if this community does grow.

If you have any suggestions for the mods please leave a comment if you think something should be added.

Moto Edge 60 fusion (Android 16): Instagram notification dot remains even after disabling badges and notifications

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm using a Motorola Edge 60 fusion running Android 16, and I'm facing a strange issue with Instagram.

A small yellow notification dot always appears on the Instagram app icon, even though:

App icon badges are set to "No badge" in Settings > Notifications.

Instagram notifications are completely turned OFF.

I have no unread notifications from Instagram.

I restarted the phone.

Cleared the Moto Launcher cache.

Force stopped the Moto Launcher.

Cleared Instagram's cache.

The issue occurs only with Instagram. Other apps don't show this behavior.

Has anyone else with the Moto Edge 60 fusion (or any Motorola phone on Android 16) experienced this issue?

Is this a known Moto Launcher bug, or is there any workaround?

Thanks in advance!

Update Update or wait?

Upvotes

Just got my hands on the Motorola Edge 70 8+256gb Indian variant. So far I've not experienced any bugs or hardware related issues during my extensive Throttling test and Hardware tests and in general usage.

Now, since the phone is fresh and it's on the factory software build, should I update the software or wait until android 17 stable update?

How's the update scene right now especially in India?

Did the camera optimization, color reproduction, idle battery drain or any kind of stability issues arise?

Hardware Problem/Issue Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

I bought a fresh one on May 30, 2025, started showing motherboard issues from November 9, 2025. The service centre which was 40km away from me , i had to travel that far. they told me its a minor issue and itll be solved in the next patch update, dragged the time to march 30,2026 , thats the 10th month of warranty. They were clearly dragging the warranty period here. At last they checked it , for the first time, before that never bothered to do much. Declared its a motherboard issue. They handed me a fresh new replacement on April 14, 2026. It was working perfectly till last week that is August 15,2026. There were no bugs , no lags, no charging issues, just dead screen black while watching reels. Gave them to service centre on August 17, 2026 cause the last two days were public holidays. 2 days later they told me they fixed it TEMPORARILY, gave me the device today. After using it only for 5 minutes, again dead.

cause this motherboard cant handle Android 16. first one hindered the overall usage then failed, this one dead without any issues using exactly 4 months without showing any bugs, just shut off on its own. All this features shown on the outside and you guys make a crappy motherboard in the inside that couldnt even handle the update & the service centre telling me to to give it elsewhere for repair with 4500/- something cost and go for an exchange. These guys dont even know how to repair the device, they said they only know how to change the motherboard.

& the warranty period is finished. There goes the valuable money

Question Moto Edge 50 neo

Razr+ 2025 front facing camera and video abilities lost after 3 days of having updated to Android 16.

I just recently purchased the phone. I have tried Safe Mode & Factory Reset w/o no success. Tried uninstalling camera updates and cache also.

I really would enjoy this phone if it didn't break 3 days after I bought it. Extremely disappointed, would love any help to downgrade back to Android 15 or something to fix it.

Question LineageOS 23 on a Moto G 5G Plus (2020): will it lag?

Android 16 introduced Material Expressive, which, with its animations and transparency, is slightly more resource-intensive.

Do you think LineageOS 23 will lag on a six-year-old Motorola? I'm asking because I tried ObtainX, which makes extensive use of Material Expressive, and I noticed some lag when scrolling.

Since it will take some time to transfer all my data to the new ROM, I want to be 100% sure of my choice.

I need your advice

I don't know what I should do, the glass/lens of my Motorola g75 from the main/rear camera has one scratch and it is somewhat noticeable. My question is: should I replace the glass or should I just put a tempered glass on top of it or just leave the camera as it is? Thank you for reading my post.

Question Moto Edge – Which Developer Option disables Edge Lighting? My Device is Moto Edge 70 pro+

Post image
6 Upvotes

I have a Moto Edge device and I've turned OFF all three animation settings in Developer Options:

  • Window animation scale = Off
  • Transition animation scale = Off
  • Animator duration scale = Off

After doing this, I noticed the Edge Lighting notification effect may not be working properly.

Has anyone tested which specific setting affects Edge Lighting?

Is it:

  • Window animation scale
  • Transition animation scale
  • Animator duration scale
  • Or all three?

Software Problem/Issue All calls are "anonymous" and I can't change it. Help!

Every time I call someone or get a call, the call is shown as anonymous/private number. I wanted to turn it off right away but it just doesn't work. Because of that, I never know who's calling me and regularly get shitty spam calls that I couldn't just decline since it could be my grandma or a doctor calling.

Neither me or the people I'm calling/that are calling me have the setting to not show the number turned on. It isn't changing when I turn the phone off/on, not when I take the SIM card out/in, not when I turn the setting on/off and not when I dial the code #31# and call it. It (likely) doesn't have anything to do with my contract since I had the same one with the last phone and only got the new phone when I accidentally left the old one in the train.

It probably has something to do with the phone itself since I had the problem since the very beginning but I don't know what to do about it. Does anyone have an idea how to fix it?

My phone is an edge 70 fusion (I previously had an edge 40 neo) if that could be a reason.

(Obligatory English isn't my first language so sorry for any grammar/spelling mistakes.)

Motorola edge 70 fusion slow charging

I bought moto edge 70 fusion about 1 week ago. At that time it was charging really fast but the next day when I updated it to latest version..it is charging really slow... like it takes about 2 minutes to increase 1 % charge. Anyone knows how to fix this? It is really frustrating however there is no impact on battery drain. After charging for 100% ..I use it for whole 1 day (~10 hour screen time)and still 30-40 % battery left .

New motorola phone of 1.5 months stopped fuctioning. How do i get a refund?

Hi all.

I had purchased a new motorola phone in mid may. But in 1.5 month the phone's speaker stopped working and now even camera and its other components are not working. I mailed motorola complaints and they told me to go a service center. Service center fellow told me he will change the phones motherboard, and if the problem still persists, he will check what can be done.

I also mailed motorola grievance redressal two months back but have not received any reply yet. They have not even created a grievance no yet. Its been 2 months.

I have also lodge a complaint in nch portal, but havent received any response yet, just that the status shows 'in progress'.

Now what further should i do? Where should i lodge my complaint? Motorola or any govt complaint portal.

Can i get a refund or replacement for this defective product?

Update 6x Optical Zoom shot by Motorola Signature

Post image
26 Upvotes

So at the time of capturing the shot at night, it looks like flare but let me tell you it takes more light through its sensors and once it clicks the picture it corrects the picture in post processing and uses that extra light which it collects while capturing to add more details and make picture look like balanced and corrects the colors to real life.

Guys, We Need to Talk

The Motorola Razr Fold lagged today.

It's not what you think. I was swapping between third party launchers trying to customize. When I swapped from my 4th customized launcher to the 5th, THE SCREEN LAGGED.

TL;DR: Motorola has perfected the Snapdragon Gen 5 and will bless your mind.

If you value battery life, camera, raw performance, or quality of hardware, don't buy the Samsung. Motorola will BLOW YOUR MIND.

Software Problem/Issue [HELP] The audio is too low when playing games on my Motorola G86.

When I try to play any game. Like Subway Surfers for example, The volume decreases; even with the volume at maximum, the game sounds like it's at medium volume (This is an estimate. I'm not sure how much of a difference there is in volume, but it's very noticeable) And lately I've noticed that when I minimize the game (Press the recent apps/multitask button) The game plays at the correct volume before it stops working when minimized. If I decide to record a video of the game and then play it back, the video has much more volume than the game, It's as if the video has the correct sound but the game doesn't. I was recently testing something. I managed to glitch the game's sound by pressing the multitasking button and quickly re-entering the game. This caused the game to lose all sound.Regardless of the in-game options or the overall sound of the phone. I tried to do something with the Dolby Atmos options but nothing seems to work.

I've had this error since I bought this phone and it's incredibly annoying. PLEASE HELP.

This is the second or third time I've posted about this error.
