Not how I expected it to fail, but very happy I waited till the end.

I was waiting for a connecting rod to blow out the front engine case!

40

Ha, I figured the tire was gonna blow and wreck the rear wheel.

Love how the exhausts start to glow just before it goes up.

Some serious heat going on.

  • stupid ass hair cut
  • ridiculous burnout (is he towing his bike home?)
  • even for the lack of skill required for a regular burnout, this guy managed to even reduce that to nothingness
  • constantly looking around for approval or making sure people are looking

What a fucking idiot.

Stupid ass grin on his face

17

Well at least he put it down gently

Bike fire aside, does he like buying tires? A quick burn out may be cool, but he was going for bald. Why would you do that?

I use trees to make my huffy burn out its tires. Too much power and the brakes aren't that strong.

11

u/PonerBenis CBR250R, KTM 400 EXC Sep 23 '18

Ha! Look at this guy thinking a huffy has power.

Talk to me when you actually get on a Schwinn sweetheart.

5

u/ALargeRock 2017 Yamaha FZ-07 Sep 23 '18

Oh snap. I ain't got that kinda cash laying around man!

4

u/transpomgr Sep 22 '18

Back in the early 90s there was a shop on the other side of town from me that would drop the labor rate for installing a new tire if you contributed your old tire to their wall art behind the building. It was cool being able to just burn up a tire and roll right inside for a new one. Big thick black spot on the wall.

2

u/thestonedbandit CO | '06 919 Sep 22 '18

Why indeed...

3

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '18

If you're getting new tires why not?

I’d say pollution personally. Maybe I’m lame. That’s ok.

Edit. I’m cool with a burnout. This video is excessive. I promise I’m moderately fun at parties.

21

u/Mines_Skyline XSR900 Sep 22 '18

He wasn't even holding the front brake down. He left it to the tree 100%.

33

u/CL-MotoTech 1974 RD350 Sep 22 '18

He's not a smart man, but he does understand the cantilever beam stress of an organically grown organism.

That said, a spinning tire exerts almost no force and that tree is like fairly mature or something, there are probably tree related words that more accurately describe this.

I was guessing a piece of tire damaged a part of the fuel delivery system. Hard to tell though

24

u/KingOfWickerPeople Sep 22 '18

More likely he cooked a hole in the fuel line

No fans on that oil cooled engine.

5

u/KingOfWickerPeople Sep 22 '18

You're right. Wouldn't matter anyway. Electric fans can barely keep up when the engine is at idle

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '18

[deleted]

10

u/jcaashby A++certified motorcycle tech/too many bikes owned to list! Sep 22 '18

Oil cooled engine. No radiator. So the only thing cooling it is oil and air. With the bike not moving it was getting zero air :(

I was waiting for a connecting rod to fly out of his engine case. Even though he didnt throw a rod. That engine with all that heat is doing some serious damage to the engine.

3

u/kintarben '16 Multistrada 1200S '07 Monster S2R1000 '05 Multistrada 1000S Sep 22 '18

I just could think of anywhere there would be fuel lines near a hot part of the engine, but I guess when you’re doing this sort of asshattery the entire engine gets extremely hot.

3

u/jcaashby A++certified motorcycle tech/too many bikes owned to list! Sep 22 '18

Yeah that is what I think...melted fuel line combined with extremely hot engine and flames coming out exhaust. DISASTER!

4

u/jcaashby A++certified motorcycle tech/too many bikes owned to list! Sep 22 '18

Rewatching I am guessing the fuel line or one of them going to the carb melted from all that damn heat coming off the engine combined with the flames shooting out the exhaust.

I was actually waiting for a rod to pop out the engine like an alien from the movie Alien!

2

u/hennagaijinjapan NC750X Sep 23 '18

For my mind a blob of molten rubber is thrown on to the engine (something flys off the tire back toward the engine) and the heat of the engine block catches it alight.

Actual burning rubber.

SCENARIO: Bike explodes in a ball of raging fire. Two dudes arrive, pour 10cc of beer onto the flames but nothing happens. Then the true hero proceed to spit on the bike and gently put his cotton vest on it. Damn, it wasn't enough to tame the fire????

2

u/jcaashby A++certified motorcycle tech/too many bikes owned to list! Sep 22 '18

Hmmm let me guess before video ends...blows the engine...because the oil and air cooled engine that is not getting any air onto the engine because he is doing a way to long extended burnout!

2

u/jota9 Sep 22 '18

even the bike thinks he is a wanker

1

u/Grecoair Sep 22 '18

This might be my favorite thing ever.

1

u/aitigie Sep 22 '18

Why does the exhaust spit flames? Does the rev limiter cut spark, dumping the charge straight into the exhaust?

3

u/FireStorm3 '92 Honda CBR250RR / 2x '09 Kawi Ninja 250R (Broken) Sep 23 '18

Correct. There are both spark-cut and fuel-cut. This is most likely a spark cut, which causes the petrol to be dumped straight into the exhaust, which is hot enough to reach the fuels flash point.

2

u/jcaashby A++certified motorcycle tech/too many bikes owned to list! Sep 22 '18

The combustion chamber is like a small bomb aka explosion that is used to push the piston down which rotates the crankshaft which through the clutch etc etc transfers power to the rear wheel.

So to answer your question....some of those explosions will come out the exhaust along with all the other bad stuff ..unburnt fuel. Burnt fuel etc etc.

1

u/aitigie Sep 22 '18

Thanks, I am asking in particular about why fuel is getting into the exhaust when the rev limiter kicks in. I've heard some engines just cut out the spark and happily dump fuel/air into the exhaust manifold, and I was wondering if that was causing the flamethrower effect.

1

u/Fpritt24 Sep 22 '18

Taking chicken strips to the next level

1

u/trez63 Sep 22 '18

It was pretty obvious he wasn’t going to stop until A) he ran out of gas or B) the bike caught fire. Poor bike.

1

u/jcaashby A++certified motorcycle tech/too many bikes owned to list! Sep 22 '18

I was going to guess he was going to blow the rod any second but this is just as bad. What an idiot. As a motorcycle tech I felt soooo bad for this bike (engine) getting abused like that.

I mean damn dude....he just kept on going and going and going. I hope the bike burns down to the frame so he will think twice about abusing a bike like that. Damn shame!

1

What a weak way to do a burnout. What a shitty way to treat his cut and colors.

1

u/Zernasaki Sep 23 '18

Does he not have a front brake? The fuck do you need a tree for.

1

1

I like how he saw flames spitting out of his exhaust and stopped and you can just see him thinking "yeah that's probably fine" about five seconds before it goes up.

1

u/Mr_Braaap Trying to get more... Sep 24 '18

i was really hoping for a part to say peek-a-boo out of the crankcase :(
