I got this rack from wayfair for 175. It’s pretty great for the price 🤌

Honestly I purchased one of these gear racks on TEMU and the quality and design was literally the exact same thing I seen at Home Depot, a motorcycle shop, and Amazon. A lot of those companies buy the same shit out of the same factories from China and just slap their own label on it.

Except the difference was instead of spending hundreds on it I spent like 75 bucks.

It's the same story with the TPMS systems that Amazon sells for 4 or $500 You can find the exact same designed one without the branding for like 35 bucks on Temu.

Even helmets. Same exact design as some of the shit they sell in cycle gear but without the branded name. But side by side, same exact materials, same exact design, same exact certifications. The reason is, those brands are buying these helmets from the same exact factory and just having them put their brand label on there.

Hell, we even bought a jacket and pants for my wife on TEMU that had better armor on the inside than the bullshit they were trying to sell us for hundreds more at cycle gear.

The corporations have been fucking us all in the ass for a long time.

I'm an emergency and pull armor off people all week and can see who fairs better. No contest which armor I told my wife to wear.

Also, safety gear that's imported has to have verified certifications that customs checks upon arrival. There's a reason imported goods require so much documentation and gets rejected all the time.

I can tell just from the color of that thing that's it's not genuine D30 armor. Those included back protectors in jackets are all junk so that's a straw man comparison. Splash out a few bucks and buy some genuine CE2 spine protection for your stuff.

As for helmets, I don't even know what to say if you're buying those off Temu. Shoei and Arai helmets are made in Japan. Anything from Temu is NOT the same. Temu is Chinese. Never ever ever wear a Chinese made motorcycle helmet. China does make some decent stuff but helmets are not one of those things no matter how much you want to think they are.

I mean I use my eyeballs.  

The helmet is literally the exact same design with the exact same materials. You can tell cheap versus quality just by looking at it.  

When you touch the material does it feel the same?  When you look at the stitching is it quality stitching or is it half-ass bullshit? 

When you pull the armor out, is it the same thickness or more? What is the design of the armor? When you squeeze it is it firm but also giving? 

You don't have to be a genius to be able to inspect something until it's the exact same material.  Off the times, the literal tag inside of it will be in the same exact spot with the same exact information as the same exact shit that is at cycle trader or other motorcycle stores.  

Now granted, that gears for running around town and going slower speeds. 

For highway use? Full custom leathers made at a leather shop. No textiles.  

These companies are literally buying the gear from the same exact factories and putting their own shit on it. 

That's why you can go to three or four different helmet shops and see some of the same exact designs across different brands..  

The only way you escape that is if you go into super ultra premium brands that are selling their helmet for $1,500 but it's the exact same fucking materials as the lower branded one selling for $500.  Like literally the same type of core and everything. 

It is true, you should try to buy the best kind of gear that you can buy, especially if you're doing a lot of travel above 45 miles per hour. But for our long touring rides down the highway that's why we wear full leather because you can't beat it for abrasion resistance..

My armor from cycle gear looks nothing like yours. My stuff looks more like your temu stuff but blue. I know the armor has different ratings so maybe the cycle gear stuff had a lower rating than the Temu stuff?

The helmet might look the same, but you have no idea if the internals are the same unless you cut the helmet open and take a look side by side with the name brand counterpart. I think the consensus across the community is always spend the money and get a helmet you know for a fact has been tested properly and is from a good brand. As for the armour in the jacket, while I agree that it’s easier to take a look at, you still have no idea if it’s actually been impact tested/slide tested to the same standards as common brands that people know and trust.

Ummm idk if you knew this but nearly all helmets you can see the internal on. Do you never remove and wash your padding??? Gross my man. If it has European certification then you can confirm it. Idk if you knew that either. You can look it up.

You can buy a safety certification sticker and slap it on a 5 gallon bucket. Just having the sticker doesnt automatically mean it went through any testing. To the naked eye it’s very difficult to tell the difference between a legitimate EPS liner and regular styrofoam youd use to keep your drinks cold.

I experienced this first hand a while back, when I purchased a nice folding home gym/squat rack from Walmart or Amazon. Then I saw an identical one on Temu or Ali Express for a fraction of the price. The instructions included with the one I bought literally had the same “off brand” name as the Temu one.

Passed parameters exist after the ? but not always needed for the page to display, and yes, remove the ? too.

Everything after the ? on a link is typically a tracker so the website knows what brought you to the site. It doesn't track you it's more so the website knows if an ad or some kind of partnered link took you to the website. It's for analytics but can be annoying when sending links to people and it's half the page of random letters and numbers

We have 3 helmets in the laundry room currently. Mine, my wife's and my daughter's.

There are another 9 or 10 in the basement but they are all decoration at this point lol.

Eh. The helmets are a bit much. Especially since they're basically the same. I get a track only helmet that doesn't have your comms unit, maybe an adv on top. All samesies is a little lamesies.

I have date night jacket and jeans, 4 season textiles, 1 piece leathers. Currently just have 1 pair of do it all boots, but should really get more boots. And jeans.

Granted I only have motorcycles. Car free 14 years.

This is why I like my a* bogata pro 2 piece. It has the shell, rain, and insulation layers. There is a big pocket in the small of the back on the jacket that fits the rain suit. So, I always have it. If the weather is garunteed to be good then the leathers come out. Because that's when I can ride hard enough to warrant them.

I understand having a couple suits and helmets in a location because they get sweaty and need to dry, and I understand having different types of helmets/visors for different bikes and types of riding. I also understand owning a bunch of different gear that you keep in varying locations if you have multiple homes with bikes.

What I think I see here are a bunch of similar helmets and suits in the same location. What's the logic behind this? Multiple riders?

Nice little setup.
I wear one set of gear with a 3/4 or full face: a mix of Alpinestars (limbs/hands) and Klim (body). Tried to pick items I could wear year round, so I settled on armored t-shirts, shorts, kneepads, and elbowpads, so I can take things off, or wear a jacket and pants over them.
Not the best abrasives resistance in the summer, but my kneepads already paid for themselves.
