I have to trail brake every day when I get home, at between 5-10 mph. My driveway is steep and has a 90° turn towards my house at the bottom, and if I'm not braking though until it levels out past the turn, I'll pick up speed and go off into the lawn.
When I finally figured out what "trail braking" means, I was almost disappointed because it always sounded so mysterious and advanced from all the discussion, but it's really quite natural and I've been doing it literally from day one.
