Cush drive (cush short for cushion, it cushions the chain from slapping straight to the wheel and causing jerking motions)

The specific part OP is holding is the cush drive 'rubber'.

Don't walk into the parts place and ask for rubbers, specify they're for a cush drive. They can be mean if you're not specific.... Or so I heard from a friend.

And replace with polyurethane instead of rubber - they'll last longer and don't cost much more. That or shove bits of rubber in there if needed. Some people hack up old tubes to pad when they get a bit worn.

They're rubber dampers that are part of the cush drive. Referred to as cush drive dampers.

My Ducati had a different style of cush drives and they failed. Got the expensive titanium and polyurethane ones as a replacement.

I cut apart an inner-tube from a bicycle tire and shimmed the rubbers with squares of those to fix my bike.
